I have treats in my car. I left my dachshund in the car for a moment and she ate the treats. Immediately I sat and calmly talked to her explaining that I dispense the treats. It’s funny because after our talk she has never swiped a treat in the car.
I had an elderly roommate once who made me leave the house so that she could have Thanksgiving dinner with her children and grandchildren. When I got home after they had their dinner I made myself a plate of nachos for my supper, I turned to get something to drink and came back to find her grandchildren eating my nachos, my supper. When I sat down at the table and started to cry, their mom asked me what was wrong. I told her about the whole day, she held me and told me it wasn’t fair and invited me to enjoy some of the Turkey dinner.
I can say from personal experience that in any situation like this it is best to have one human guard the table while the other brings in the food and beverages,
Our family always had dogs (luckily just one at a time.We still lost food- often thinking it was high enough that the dog couldn’t reach =wrong. That’s life. But all the food at dog level???
My cat Chumsie only stole food from the guy I kept telling to leave and not come back. He was climbing in my roommates window. I don’t even want to say why

Our eldest mutt will get up on the dinner room table if my wife leaves the treat bag or something else enticing up there.

Small dogs have no discipline – get a bigger dog and you won’t have to worry as much about it.

I’ve heard that a dog can take after his master.

Why isn’t the food on the dinner table where people can help themselves with what they want? And what is for dessert?
