Like I said yesterday: “ You would think that a woman in her 60’s, with a life time of experience behind her, would not be rattled by a winter storm”
I have two flashlights on my key-chain, a USB-Rechargeable one and a smaller, less powerful one with batteries. I have one in my bedroom and three out in the living area. The first one I use is the one that has a built-in battery and always stays in an outlet. If the power stays off by the time that one is out of juice, then the external battery one. I also have one of those that give you a short “light-time” after you shake it…
I have a friend who keeps flashlights almost within arm’s length everywhere in her house. (goes back to living by a lake where power outages were common)
I have an old school flashlight on my side of the room. Also a newer LED headlamp and SWMBO has a small promo LED flashlight on her side. Two bigger flashlights (Rigid and Makita downstairs. A small old school mini light behind the sink on the window ledge in the kitchen. probably more, but that gets us through the night.
I am on my honorto do my bestto help pretty “girlscouts”all undress!
If you’re looking for adventure of a new and different kindAnd you come across a Girl Scout who is similarly inclinedDon’t be nervous, don’t be flustered, don’t be scaredBe prepared! (Tom Lehrer)
I, on the other hand, am (as my mother insisted it was pronounced) an Iggle Scout: Candles in the bedroom, living room & kitchen, oil lamp in the study, flashlights on the bedside table, in the bedroom closet, in the study, in the living room, in the kitchen, on the landing by the back door, at the bottom of the basement steps, on my workbench, in the garage, in the car………
Which by no means means I’m not moving like Arlo.
My cellphone has a flashlight. A pen in my pocket has a flashlight. A fancy key-fob near the bed has a flashlight. I also have some traditional flashlights in and near the bedroom, can use the other flashlights to check their batteries.

Some things are better in the dark. Leaving the flashlight downstairs was part of Arlo’s preparation.

We’re right by the bed and it’s dark… we don’t need no stinking flashlight.
