A small to medium fuss is okay.

It’s nice to acknowledge a good act: Feels good on both sides of the conversation. But it’s NOT nice to monetize it… even if it’s not really money.

As I once told my ex-wife: “I saved your life today – I didn’t poison you.” As I remember, I honestly meant it at the time. All better now.

This will get old fast to her…

I think this hero went to zero with that request.

Actually, saving Opal was a self-serving act. Without her, he’d have to make his own meals, do his own laundry, etc. etc. (I was going to say make his own bed, but I realized how ridiculous that sounds.)

I think you said something about meat loaf? That would help.

Personally, fresh home made chocolate cake every couple weeks would suit me best.
