Someone needs to set up a clandestine shuttlecock factory which will use the right wings of geese (you can get ’em cheap – the high demand is for left wings – right wings are useless) and shifty players can hustle their opponents with shuttlecocks that spin counter-clockwise.
I’m not for sure, but the 200 mph lasts for about 1/1000th of a second. When I’ve watched it on tv the speed is way down and gives the opponent plenty of time to return it.
In 2011 I played badminton in the national Senior Olympics in Houston. I quickly learned if four Asians were walking on the court to grab a chair and enjoy the show.
Famous cartoon from some years ago in /The New Yorker/:
Man sitting in a living room chair, wearing a fake arrow through his head.Wife sitting opposite in a similar chair: “I never know when you’re kidding.”

I always knew badminton players were communist. Or at least socialist.
This confirms it.
