Kid, AI shouldn’t be copying other people’s work either, it being technology doesn’t make it okay.

This is funny considering that China’s Deepseek is actually copying the data from OpenAI (according to the news tonight).

I’m strongly in favor of natural intelligence. Now if only more people had it…

GIGO. If you tell AI something is true and reasonable, it accepts it. we need to feed AI Monty Python scripts on history, truth, ethics, and logic.

Most education is absorbing existing work but being a Xerox machine is not absorbing.

As always, Mrs. Olsen answers accurately and succinctly. It’s the kind of answer the kid will remember. She’s very, very good at that.

I first example I noticed (how could you miss it, it is so bad) was “The Duplex”, a cartoon strip I’ve followed for years,of the cartoonist just mailing it in for AI to draw! Ruined the strip so badly it can’t read it anymore. Now it looks as though “Luann” is jumping on that bandwagon with the character Piro being turned by AI into a clone of Brad! Rightly or wrongly now Frazz is taking on the AI taint. If you cartoonists are tired of doing your own drawing, retire! Don’t cheapen all your years of good work by thinking AI “art” is good enough!

I’m with Mrs. Olsen on the need for real intelligence.

Just have him watch Fox and listen to AM.

Intelligence is not only not needed, but is a detriment.

I’m a teacher. It’s scary to see how true this strip is. Far too many students rely on Google search and AI to ‘answer’ their questions. Even after showing how the answers are (a) easy to spot and (b) almost always incorrect, they still decide that the ‘easy’ route is better (and then get surprised when they get failing/poor grades).

Artificial Intelligence is an oxymoron. Pick one. When you can’t, we’ll be in a world of hurt.

Yes, AI just absorbs existing works. We want you to do that as well, which is why we’ve picked out some really good ones for you.

AI also spits back existing works. That’s what we don’t want you to do. We want you to process what you’ve learned and return something original.
