Ugh, that is bad even for Crankshaft, a real groaner.

Okay, Ed’s been away for a couple of weeks. Apparently, it’s going to take him a while to ease into his patented “muddled aphorism” routine.

We’re not really going to go for a re-do of “Ralph Runs for Mayor,” are we? I was only kidding yesterday.

Well…you don’t have to actually read it. It just looks better than Dinkle.

Hmmmm…. “Bud” as in beer, or “Bud” as in weed?

But he’ll be let off with a light sentence.

That was the best Batty could do? Why not “The police caught him driving away from the Atomik Komix building. Turns out he took his hands off the wheel to pocket a bribe from its wealthy publisher.”

“You mean he was arrested for driving under the affluence?”

What a total fantasy! Elected officials being held accountable for their actions? Puh-leeze!

Haven’t you heard? The Supreme Court made the POTUS an all-powerful King with a “Get Out of Jail Free” card. So what’s a little drunk driving?

Was the mayor just drinking Bud? Will he have the charges against him dismissed by higher authority like Adams of NYC did?

Okay,who among this cast is most qualified to run for Mayor? Pizza Box Guy gets my vote

Well that was horrible.

Even Dangerous Dan was bored by today’s script. You can tell by the way he lovingly rendered every zit on Ed’s nose.

Meanwhile, check out Batiuk’s art in today’s “Funky” strip. Seems the “tradition” of omitting parts of eyeglasses goes way, way back.

Do you think the implication is that, now that marijuana is legal in Ohio, it’s not clear what “under the influence” specifically means? Or is it simply that the mayor may have gotten blotto after drinking too many Budweiser beers? Sorry, it’s neither: Crankshaft isn’t “implying” anything, he’s merely saying vaguely wordplay-shaped sounds while his soul screams endlessly inside, begging for a death that will never come.

That’s a Crankshaft classic! Stealing it.

Maybe implying the bud commercial failed the test this year? It was good but not their best.
