I know the reason she was there…. she lives there.

I often went in to school during “vacations.” If I didn’t have papers to evaluate, I could use the time to clean my desk.

From her perspective, I can see getting “some stuff done”. From his, it looks like a pure mistake. In my youth I sometimes rode the school bus so when it didn’t show, I’d have been clued. But if I’d walked as I often did (about a mile or so) I might have found myself where Caulfield is. Though I did have several sibs to remind me as well.

Maybe Caulfield didn’t forget about winter break. Maybe he saw Mrs Olsen making the mistake and did this to make her feel better.

“Hey, what are you doing here?”

‘I was expecting you, and I wanted to make sure you were safe.’

Unlike students, teachers use “vacations” to grade papers, plan lessons, professional education, ….

As mentioned yesterday, it’s difficult to imagine a kid forgetting about school vacation. It’s something they are usually excited about and usually talking about the Friday before. I guess it could happen once in a great while. A lousy home environment could also be a factor.

Caulfield was thinking about all the good stuff he could get up to in class and just overlooked the weather day call.

Quick, turn in your homework.

Always felt a little sorry for the school Superintendent. He had to drive around to see if there was so much snow/ice that the busses couldn’t.

Just wait, Caulfield, some day…

As any cat would say under the circumstances, “I meant to do that”.

Comforting her by rubbing it in yeah that works

I post comments on the “Frazz” Facebook page. Caulfield said is interesting, “At least it’s no something I do every year. Hey, what are you doing here?” Yes, wonder why your teacher is in front of the school, too.

Caulfield is there only because he knows that Mrs. O screws this up every year? So that he can give her a hard time about it? Do I have this straight?

And so it begins…
