If Trans Former was a man’s name and Mister Trans Former had a son, would the son’s name be called Trans Later? Or, Translator?

I once saw a transformer blow up. In 2008, we were getting ready to go into then Ralph Wilson Stadium for a Chargers-Bills game. I looked up and saw a mylar balloon hit a transformer on a pole with a huge and bright discharge of energy. That knocked out power for the entire stadium. We got into the stadium and after a short while the power came back on.

The game was only about 5 minutes in when the power went out again and there was nothing on anywhere in RWS. The game stopped, while there were frantic efforts to restore power; CBS switched to another game, the radio broadcast was done over the phone and the officials conferred with New York and were told to resume the game.

It was the most interesting sporting event I had ever attended. The only noise was the crowd; the officials kept the clock and when there are no commercial breaks, the game goes a lot faster. That Chargers-Bills contest is now known in NFL lore as “the Quiet Game.”

The cables transfer the energy. The transformers convert the energy from one form to another. And yes, that still works with the joke.

Transformers change the voltage and current going into them by either stepping it up or down with the number of windings. So if you have 120V 1A going into a 10:1 transformer, you get 12V 10A output

a teacher of mine, many years ago, said trans means across, like trans-Pacific means across the pacific, trans-continental means across the continent. One of his students commented, ‘now I know what trans-parent means’. lol..

Hardly passive when they feel warm, or, worse yet begin to buzz. Besides, Megatron, has the market on them.
