Nice to see Mom so kind to Susie. I wonder how Dad feels about her—remember, he never wanted kids!

While Calvin is yelling at his stuffed toy, Mom and Susie could bake cookies—or something else very 1950-ish.

It’s not just a tie, it’s a Tiger Tie.

Hobbes is a traitor.

This is just to cute! This is new to me!

Hobbes wanted to make a good impression to her. Wonder if he splashed on some cologne as well.

I showed this strip to one of my friends from work. I said to her, “I like Susie’s questions – ’Has my Mom called? Can I go home yet?” My friend replied, “Yes. I don’t think she likes being with Calvin!”

I’ve always wondered; why does Calvin assume everyone else experiences Hobbes as a real tiger? I’ve seen strips where his mom refers to him as ‘your stuffed tiger’, so he must have some sense of that version of reality. So why is he surprised when something like this happens? It’s a comic strip, so I get the ‘suspension of reality’ angle, but Calvin and Hobbes is not your average comic strip.

Hobbes’ affection no longer exclusive to Cal. Cal is just discovering that cats are adaptable.

What gets me about today’s strip is that Hobbes is wearing a tie, so it tells me that Calvin’s mom put the tie on Hobbes just to mess with Calvin’s mind…and it worked!

Calvin knowing Susie was coming over and purposely putting a tie on Hobbes in the morning before school just so Susie would see it when they get home is so hecking cute.

Don’t seem to be on the same page!!!!!!

Calvin’s Mom has always had a viscous sense of humor. Brilliant.

So who put the tie on Hobbes? Calvin’s mom or was Calvin aware Susie was coming over after school?

As we get closer to April 1st, I just want to say it’s been fun bantering with all you folks here. The cost factor is not steep, but when you add the foreign exchange it seems a bit dear. I think I will just wander over to another free site. it’s been a slice. Y’all be good to each other.

Calvin isn’t looking up at Hobbs, like when we see Hobbs is real. You would think Calvin would always be looking upwards with Hobbs.

When I am out and see young couples, it is obvious that Hobbes is the only guy dressing up for a girl!

Soon enough you will too; and happily undress for one as well.

Oops, back to reality ! ;-)

I think pets love other people that are not part of the immediate family, I know my SIL’s husky stays by my side almost all the time when I visit.

Bro is a PLAYUH

I guess I was unique because I went to girls houses and guys houses when I was Calvin’s age. I always liked girls because they were so pretty.

It’s strips like this that sway me to the “He’s not a real tiger” side
