“For the most part, kids are looking for advice and guidance and they’re not getting it. I try to reflect high school life as realistically as possible.” Jack Berrill — I would maintain Gil Thorp is still doing that to this day. Thanks, Coach! One obvious recent shift is he isn’t doing much coaching. Is this a temporary phase? We’ll see. Today is a new day, he appears to be coaching. Tomorrow we might be back in the stables and that’s OK. I’d maintain then, now, goal in end was not necessarily to help a(n almost always) male youth, it was getting things back to “normal” as defined by winning sporting games at Milford HS, within a boys football, basketball, baseball world. Today, you got it. And Leo said it, winning is the only thing that matters. What is Gil Thorp more than anything, currently? Well, it would appear he is – a role he did not have for a long time in this comic strip – a Dad. Keri Thorp is now in high school and a they/them? Think on it this way. What if this were your child? What would you do? Keri seems to have a great dad. And Gil now has a scowling ex who snaps, “Try harder?” Well, that’s more realistic than Mimi Thorp’s Miss America stand by your man days in the hands of an artist, Jerry Jenkins era. (2/27/03, Mimi, wowza, whereas 2/1/03, little Keri, yowza.) Thank you Gil Thorp, 67 years young, still looking good, still there with advice and guidance. Then, now, I read it first thing in the morning and I look forward to what is ahead.
P3- The lights are on, but no one’s home croons Robert Palmer over the musak system. Remember when Gil told Coach No Nads he used to be a force? So were you GilPa. A sharp game day dresser and good strategist. Sadly, you are only as good as your author.

Just two days ago the Owls were not making live easy for Leo. Yet, hands up with another double-double. No wonder he the star of the game.

Leo omitted that they’re taking them one game at a time.

“We’re focused on winning by freezing out our best (yet most conceited) player. It’s a very healthy team dynamic.”

I don’t think I’ve ever seen an interviewee with headphones. And usually there’s a microphone.

On this day in Gil Thorp History, 02/28 & 29/1980
Bobby Loft: I’m not going in that locker room…Those guys wanna kill me!
Gil: Well…You might try to apologize! Let’s go!
Bobby Loft: Hey…I – I’m sorry!
Player 1: Forget it, Loft! The ref did blow that call.
Player 2: Hey, Loft…What DID you yell at him to draw that technical?==============
Mimi: Bobby Loft is going with the team for pizza?
Todd: I thought they’d be taking him outside to lynch hiTodd: Say…Maybe he’s finally getting himself turned around, Gil!
Gil: Oh…I have no illusions about that…but it’s a start!
Gil:…and who knows…We may have found someone who might be a big help to us next season!

Hey Jarvis White’s Needle, are you okay? Haven’t heard from you for a couple of days. Has Henry had you dissappeared?
