I missed the drip the first time. I was too busy checking Ed’s math.

In the 80’s for a COBOL Programming job they used to test if you could add in Hex and Octal

If I did it right, I’m 14 years younger in hexadecimal. Convert that to dog years for my hexadecimal value would make me about 6.4 years old, 1/10 of the base 10 year. Man, I’m geeking out here.

Sure, the hex value is: 1A + 2B = 45, while the decimal value is: 26 + 43 = 69. Interesting how 69 came into play for a bar pickup line.

my great regret, now that my computer career is over, is that I never learned hex, though I never had to use it, it was just one of those badges I did not earn.

When it came out to 45, I at first assumed it was a joke about Emperor Trump.

We never programmed anything in hex. By the time my employer let “ordinary” engineers use the computers, it was in Fortran.

Why do programmers get Halloween and Christmas mixed up? Because OCT 31 = DEC 25

More interesting is that Oct 31 = Dec 25, causing some geeks to mix up Halloween with Christmas
