I think Toni might be reading her “slightly wrong”, I think Ann likes the idea of using Brad as “her toy”, but does not want to get dirty and gritty with him, and I think there is a good chance she is into the “Bernice type” of girl, but not the “Toni type” ……….. as I said a few weeks ago

I don’t know that Ann likes Brad as much as she likes targeting an employee who’s in a relationship and then manipulating them to “choose” her to keep their job. Obviously no one else fits the bill, because really…Brad???

As those that understand the power games of Women (which were mainly the Women) explained yesterday, Toni would not be smart if she accepted any freebie from Ann.Which she didn’t.

Oh boy, just great. Now watch as Brad gets a swelled head over having TWO pretty women interested in him. At least with Toni they have history so it made sense, Ann just wants him … cause he’s unattainable … and simple-minded … like most guys. Well, I guess that they don’t have to be guys since she targeted Bernice, anyone who is uncomfortable with her sexual advances is fair game. She has strange tastes.

Ann is not really into sex as her main game. She is into power and conquest. Sex and sexual attraction are just tools and resources. Gender of the subjugated is not important. Mind you, she obviously likes being a Woman.

Brad, Brad, wake up before the moon is dark and the honeymoon never started.

In dealing with Ann, Brad has to become more like a woman. Never take what is said at face value. Always look for two meanings in everything said or done. Always suspect that everyone is out to get you.

From my point of view ann is a predator as to whether she is Bi or not will be revealed later. But Brad may be a piece in a plot for revenge against those who had her removed from her previous manager position.

Brad looks like he is yanking Toni’s chain in that last scene.

I think that the whole plot will be to get Ann out the her position where she can pray on any others if Brad leaves on his own accord, or is fired. They need to figure out a legal trap for her, How this develops looks like it will be interesting. :-)

Ann is just trying to make life miserable for Toni & Brad…boy, do I know someone like that! Secondly, Brad needs to get a little life experience under him,,,maybe he should join the military and become a real man.

I don’t know that Toni can slap any sense into Brad (yeah, I know, I have a pleasant vision of her trying to do it…) He’s almost LD (learning disabled) in that his comprehension is limited to what’s on the surface, with no deeper understanding about what’s going on beneath. ‘Ann offered to treat Toni, she must like her after all!’ ‘She likes me, everything’s OK!’ If Brad’s in his 20s and still that clueless, he’s not gonna magically wise up enough to cope with Ann.

Not true, Ann was interested in brad even before she knew Toni was in the picture.

This makes the 3rd woman in Brad’s life to warn him about Ann Eiffel. It doesn’t matter if Brad ignores these warnings or heeds them, he will keep the job for two reasons:

1. he needs the money;2. it makes for an interesting plot.

Ann’s interest in Brad was piqued the second she saw Toni. Anyone capable of pulling a dime like Toni got “something” and that very much appeals to other women.

Brad is not nearly as dumb as he pretends.

Ann and Dirk would be perfect for each other, or drive each other crazy. If Greg makes Brad any more naive, he’ll make Puddles look like an intellectual. He is testing Toni’s loyalties already, being underemployed and making Toni be the leader all the time. Brad needs to take some testosterone pills.

There’s a whole lot of people out there commenting on this thing who are guilty of over-thinking. Relax, folken!

How hard can it be to find another minimum wage job?

@Frank Cruz – it would be VERY easy to find another low paying job. But Greg doesn’t write “easy” arcs. He challenged himself by bringing these two women together. He’s a bit of a mad experimenter, Evans. "Let’s see what happens if we mix THIS with THI— BOOM == If fans want explanations as to why the characters do what they do, get into the cartoonist’s head …. that’s where it all starts and ends.

Someone said Brad looked like an organ grinder monkey, minus the hat. Minus the brains too, apparently.

Today’s effort gives me pause…. if Toni thinks that Eiffel is “romantically” attracted to Brad…. so what? Brad doesn’t have to respond to that. This makes it seem that Toni doesn’t trust Brad in their relationship…. not a good sign at all. Today’s story line took the comic in a direction I did not expect and frankly doesn’t make me think very highly of Toni. She should be confident enough in her relationship with Brad to not be jealous of Eiffel. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++What I had anticipated today’s strip would have been was Toni getting upset at the idea of having Eiffel arbitrarily decide which customers Brad can and cannot interact with during his job.

IF ONLY Toni were jealous! I don’t think she’s insecure or distrustful of Brad. Until she decided she loved Brad instead of Dirk, she didn’t care whether Brad lost interest in her, or got his feelings hurt. But now that she does care about Brad, I think she realizes how naive he is and she’s trying to help him understand things, as his friend. I do wonder how this will impact their romantic relationship, though. Brad’s not exactly scoring points with Toni throughout this story.

Imagine how many more women would find Brad irresistable if he ever styled his hair? At least he has more than one shirt now…

Some people are too clueless to know how to search a page for a key word to see if it’s been discussed; some can’t be bothered to read anything or check out what’s been hapening in the strip, they just want to be spoon fed; and some are probably lame-o trolls who think it’s funny to keep asking a question that’s already been answered. I say after it’s been asked and answered a few times, ignore them. If they care that much, they’ll learn to read the boards for themselves.

Toni is seeing things pretty clearly – Brad needs to tune in and value her insight – not just to avoid pissing her off, but because he’s a McIdiot in regard to recognizing Ann’s games.

Hey, Hey! You don’t expect us to think & speak a second language (namely female) do you? Of course it would be helpful at times. Reminds me of the mother mouse & her daughter hiding in a bush when being stalked by the cat. All the sudden, the mother mouse let out a loud BARK! BARK! and the cat beat a hasty retreat. Mother told daughter, it always pays to be able to speak a second language.

Please let it be that Toni is misreading Ann’s attempts and Ann is actually trying to hit on Toni with the free meal. After all she is much more of a catch for Ann to bag than foolish Brad could ever wish to be. Besides Toni’s never been one to pick up on that sort of thing (i.e. her gaydar’s broke), she didn’t recognize that the Fire Dept. Chief was gay till he told her.

okay..i admit it…i am clueless…where do you find the archives to search for things? Or, should i just go read war and peace?

Brad is a fine target for women. He’s a yes ma’am, kind-of-guy. Happy enough to be doing something, making money, not the brightest bulb in the box, but a decent honest guy, (which is hard to find) none-the-less.

@cjcampbell; I can imagine Brad pretending to be dumber than he is, as protective colouring, in order to protect himself from certain enemies. But why do it with Toni? Shouldn’t he be trying to be completely open and honest with her?So I conclude that he is pretty well as dumb as he looks.

Just where do people get the idea that you can get people to behave well by hitting them up the side of the head? Is this a typical American belief?

@imbaldeagle; That story about the cat and the mice was a favourite in English-speaking Quebec. We have a few others like that.

A reversal of this story is the one where the cat waited outside the mousehole and squeaked in mouse [language]. So the mice felt safe, and came out…

Chuck not sure I understand where your coming from. where is Dirk in this? It is all about Brad and how he can grow up. While I hate manipulative bosses as much as any, I agree with baldeagle. I have no problem with th arc. I’ll have a lot to catch up on Monday. Going to Crown Tourney where our next King will be chosen from about 2 dozen guys fighting with sticks in the sun. I hope it’s cooler in Chino Valley than Phoenix (record heat)

Didn’t she pull this same plot on Bernice and Zane? Promoted one of them so they couldn’t spend time together and then be really nice so that the wary who was on to her just looked jealous/crazy?

why is it that women in powerful positions are always depicted as being evil? Is it so hard for people to imagine powerful women as being good?
