I see nothing wrong with wishing Brad and Toni happiness, even if they are flawed, human, two-dimensional (literally) characters. They’re portrayed as basically nice people. They do deserve each other, and in the nicest possible way.

Toni’s gorgeous and smart, and we’ve already seen her reject a brainless hunk who treated her like garbage and ended up collecting garbage. She chose Brad because she sees something in him beyond the bumbling ditz that he used to be – he’s grown far beyond that in many ways, even though we see the occasional remnant. Don’t we all have growth to make every day? I see these two becoming strong adults and strong parents, and look forward to that prospect, regardless of what challenges may face them between here and there.

Could there be wedding bells in the near future?

It wasn’t in the park. Toni is a lady. It was at the house. TJ had stepped out to go to the store. When he returned Brad was sweaty and nervous. Toni was in the bathroom. At dinner she commented that the “Brad” was delicious. She had thought she said bread. Let’s also not forget the $80 underwear set for Christmas.

Brad should get off the fence and “Man Up” and just ask her to marry him. He’s a shy stand-up guy from a good family who needs a smart level headed woman to make his life complete, which would be a nice Plus for us readers. I for one would like to see a happy ending for a change.

Alexiel Raziel ,I agree many companies are working shorthanded rather than calling people back, but (assuming they needed a certain number to make up a full unit to answer calls), a callback was inevitable. They would have to form a training class (training would take several months), and then they still would have an inexperienced firefighter whose hesitation at a vital moment might actually be dangerous.

You know, there’s something pretty significant here that nobody has really noted. Up until this point, Toni has been a bit low key about their relationship as far as public image is concerned. Now, however, she’s openly talking marriage, kissing him publicly – at work, no less. This is a big change for her. I doubt anyone at the station is particularly surprised, of course – especially the captain. Remember Brad had already told him they loved each other a couple of years (our time) ago. And the captain is smart enough to get the idea that there’s more than meets the eye going on between the two. He probably got the idea way back with Freddie.

“Half ’jones” had me laughing for a good while there…While many coproration leave the hiring and firing practices up to the various franchises, Ann’s a manager, not an owner, and that leeway the franchises are given has to fall within the law. .It was obvious that whatever Ann was up to was on her own behalf (at like zero notice, too!) and would’ve had no corporate backing, but what Wiselad was after was whether any sort of “loyalty” contract could enjoin Brad from being rehired by the FD.

Well, it’s a comic strip- but one thing we learned about Toni: she put his needs ahead of her own, his joy was her joy. She’s a keeper. He needs to recognize and appreciate that- he owes her!
