Rat: What do you dream of being when you're older? Pig: Oh, a toy shop owner! I'd have all the toys I ever wanted for free!! Rat: Toy shop owners don't get toys for free. They pay for them. Pig: Life is cruel.
… well … actually … the toys could be sorta almost free …… he’d buy them wholesale of course, then he could play with some of the ones he just bought, then when he’s finished playing with them, sell them as “factory seconds” or something … which is still probably a little more than the wholesale price …
Even though I don’t consider myself/family to be wealthy, we are in the 5% (not 1%) and we pay A LOT of taxes. Since both my husband and I own our own businesses, we are quite heavily taxed, even with all the so-called ‘tax breaks.’ Perception is not always reality and the media loves to get people riled up.

But he always has the option of getting one for “free”, He does make money off of the sale, you know… Throw it in as a cost of doing business….

Break the next part to him, Rat. He can’t keep the toys and has to sell them. Unused preferably.

Yes. Yes, it is cruel, Pig. Welcome to Rat’s world, the harsh, cold world of reality, where toys are not free nor is anything else. TANSTAAFL.

Well, I guess now’s not the time to tell Pig about the Easter Bunny.

I always wanted to be the owner of a house of ill-repute, so I could get all the ill-repute I wanted for free.

For some reason panels 2 and 3 reminded me of Pig’s Gummy Bear heaven fantasy.

Where is rat’s empty cup today, and how does the owner of the diner make any money?
Claire Jordan over 12 years ago
He’d get the toys at wholesale rates, though….
