Well, it’s gonna depend upon where Greg wants to go – Drama? Either in the creek for a dramatic rescue a la For Better or For Worse, or perhaps a kidnapping (too dark, I think), or if he wants humor, she’s taking a nap in Brad’s bed.

Yesterday, someone said she was hiding inside. I’m betting they were right.

Man, you guys are getting pretty far fetched! It’s a crappy night – while a contrary little kid might like a rainstorm during the day, cold and wet at night is another story. .I don’t believe Brad’s parents live “across the street”, but if they do, and they are treating Shannon to hot chocolate, then shame on them. Very few parents would do nothing but give a cup of cocoa to a preschooler who randomly showed up on their doorstep on a rainy night – not without first informing either her parents or the cops of her whereabouts. Nancy and Frank aren’t exactly idiots, they’d know Toni must be at Brad’s, and they’d certainly call to let them know where Shannon was. .Which is inside the house, probably fast asleep. Biting for justice takes it out of a kid!

Some people are assuming Weenie World is within easy walking distance for a child in what seems to be just a few minutes. But Shannon does have a thing for TJ.

Hmmm….2 bachelors living as housemates, each has their own room. Brad says that he checked every room, but I suspect – as being a bachelor that lived with housemates in the past – that there is a boundary with each others’ bedroom (i.e: respect the privacy of your housemates. Don’t enter unless it is an emergency. Brad didn’t think that it was an emergency at the time of his first search.). I’m going to say that she might be asleep in TJ’s room. TJ gave her the WW crown [which made her day, as “Queen of the World”]; She did seek protection from Ann Eifel by hugging TJ and saying she didn’t like her, and he told her she could join their club, remember? After all, Toni & Shannon left WW and went to the house to see Brad. TJ had not returned home from work, yet. Remember, he was feigning a concern for Ann’s injury to her finger and then went to attend to a customer. So…"Shannon. In TJ’s room. On the bed, with the WW “Queen of the World” crown."

She could have found either Brad’s or Toni’s car unlocked and got in out of the rain. Then, either fell asleep or is ignoring them when they call her name. My son, when age four, did this to me.Or she found her way to WW by now. Or she is somewhere in the house and refuses to respond to the calling of her name. Hope we find out tomorrow. This is getting tedious.

Toni had the sense to put on a slicker before going out in that downpour, but poor Brad did not. Maybe in fact she is wearing his. If so, a noble gesture on his part, but dangerous. I think Shannon is probably fine (at WeenieWorld?), but now Brad’s health could become a concern (requiring round-the-clock nursing from Toni, of course).

The psych-ic/o Big Sister turns on her Little-Sister Radar: *Shannon thought about going back to Weenie-World, because TJ pays attention to her. But it was raining, and she had to go potty. So, leaving the back door open, she went to the bathroom. From there, she did hear Toni calling her name, but didn’t answer loud enough to be heard.

Shanon made it to the kitchen about the time Brad and Toni left. Seeing their exit, she has gone to the closet to get her rain gear. She’ll be following them for quite some time before they notice her.

This is so predictable. Shannon will be dry and warm inside Brad’s home or a neighbors, and looking at them like they’re crazy, and they’ll be panicked, wet and relieved.Boring.

Greg has to pace himself with these arcs, or he’ll burn out trying to constantly come up with fresh ideas. He could always take a Luann “break”. She’d be a fresh, new face.

Geez, I can’t wait for tomorrow— Mr. Evans has “left the door open” for so many possible scenarios. Now, I no longer make predictions, but here is one reader’s assessment of probabilities: Kidnapping by either Ann or Dirk would lead to serious repercussions, and might take weeks (or months) to play out. If Shannon went outside the house, I wish Greg E. would have drawn a map indicating the relative position of Brad & TJ’s place in relation to Weenie World, the DeGroot residence and Jonah’s place. Finally, it would be great to have a floor plan of the house to show all of the potential hiding places where Shannon might be if she had not left the house. Also, as a follower of Lynn Johnston’s original strip, I love the idea of Puddles expiring as he rescues Shannon!

As all of this “drama” is unfolding, Luann is oblivious to it, being in her own little world (probably fantasizing about Quill), Tiffany would be apathetic, and Frank & Nancy are unaware of the situation. But where is TJ at the moment?

Lastly, if Greg Evans runs out of ideas, I would suggest something that might be more than a bit original for newspaper comic strips. That is the one that I suggested a few weeks ago— Bernice is approached by an old Occult Philosopher, who offers her employment as a Naked Librarian in the Lodge of a Secret Society.

No offense against dogs! I am a lover of all animals. Actually, Puddles should not be killed off, as he has never done anything against the “humans” in this comics! I was just making an oblique reference to the thing about Farley…

Things could be so much easier to think about if Greg Evans furnished us with a street map of Pitts, as well as diagrams of houses in the city. Also, what are the regulations regarding employees of the municipal departments?

I hope Puddles is in a safe refuge in the House Of DeGroot! No, he should not be crucified for the sins of Shannon! Let’s repent our evil thoughts!

With all this fan-generated build-up, there had better be a blockbuster development tomorrow. But, whatever happens will possibly have a significant effect on the relationship of Brad & Toni. Shannon has proven to be problematical in the “chemistry” of their erotic relationship…

I dunno, I think Sanchez retiring to Spain in the nick of time for Brad to be at the head of the magical rehire list, so Toni didn’t have to sacrifice her place, is about as deus ex machina-y as you’re ever likely to get!.I also don’t get the constant Dirk fascination amoing the conspiracy theorists, except for the fact that evil is far more entertaining than good, just like conflict is far more interesting than happiness. (Which is why Greg won’t do a happily-ever-after marriage for Brad and Toni, no matter how many people swear they won’t read the strip any more unless they get their way.).While Dirk may not be in prison, I think wherever he is, he’s still up to no good. My first hunch would be identity theft, which would also explain why he isn’t back in clink..The open door? It’s just like the “legal schmegal” paperwork – a plot device that arises from nowhere, and returns just as quickly – with zero explanation.

What was ridiculous is that apparently Brad was the only firefighter laid off during the cost costs, which were “last hired, soonest fired” – but that also means “last to be RE-hired” after layoffs. So for him to be able to take immediate advantage of Sanchez (say that 3 times fast!) leaving, he’d have had to be at the head of the recall list, with no one else having more seniority. Totally a deus ex machina save.
