On Fatherās Day this brings back memories of my grandson when he was that age ā all energy and imagination ! Yes he did the chair to sofa leaps, and also, would have me time him, as he raced through my house. And the things he could come up with for a large cardboard boxā¦Heāll be seventeen in August and if I reminded him of these things, heād look at me like I had two heads, and say " Oh, Gramps! Thatās so ancient history.."
Ditto with my own childhood of a lava living room. But later with my girls they were avoiding the graboid creatures from the Tremors movie. Just thinking about them makes me pick my feet up now!
When sister and I were kids I do not remember doing what Nelson did. Mom would not be happy. Iām also surprised this strip did not honor Fathers Day.
To my wonderful husband and the dadās here on this strip also in rememberance of my dad.
My kids played the āhot lavaā game. I just let them play as they had so much fun. Hope kids still do that today on their breaks from the computer and TV.

If youāve never jumped from one couch to the other to avoid the lava, youāve never had a childhood.

Do all kids play that game? I know we did when I was Nelsonās age. Keep playing Nelson. Keep your imagination alive.

I canāt say I played that game, but I had a good childhood nonetheless. Lego gave me a way to channel my imagination.
