I was having trouble using a pay phone once a number of years ago. Kept putting in my quarter, nothing would happen, I’d have to try to make the coin return work (about a 4% prospect, usually). When all else failed, I opened the coin return to see if my quarter actually came out. Pulled out almost $10 in change — after which the phone worked.

Dude they dont use coins anymore, and you’d be lucky to find a payphone nowadays.

Remember going to the airport as a kid., major score on the phones there. People in a hurry would hang up and leave change in the phones
