Wow, this thing has been superb. Bad guys getting theirs, good guys coming out with cuts and burses, but making it out alive with the help of friends and all. This has been better than the storm of the century … well that really was boring and we never did see his face. good mornrn all

MAD magazine once did a feature on obituaries for comic strip characters, and the one for Dick Tracy listed lead poisoning from all the bullets he’s taken as the cause of death.

Good guys ALWAYS end up with a big patch on their left shoulder! Doesn’t matter who, could be the Shadow or Batman or the Lone Ranger, it’s always a patch on their left shoulder.

It looks like Panda was firing slugs. Good thing he wasn’t trying for a head shot.I would say Tracy will have a broken collar bone, and one heck of a bruise.It looks like both Tracy and Lizz are going to have an arm in a sling for awhile.

Somewhere, Dick’s hat lets out a sigh of relief.

whew! Dicks ok. Wasn’t really looking forward to reading “Sam Catchem” by Joe Staton & Mike Curtis, lol

Good thing Tracy was wearing body armor! The vest seems to have stopped at least three bits of lead (or whatever material) from the pump-action shotgun, but another one (or more?) got around the shoulder strap of the vest. Tracy is lucky; without his armor he may very well have been killed. Meanwhile, if Wendy Wichel’s trademark hat were any larger, it wouldn’t fit even on a 60" TV screen (unlike Hedda Hopper’s more compact hats back in the ’40s, ’50s, and ’60s; she was, of course, the gossip columnist for the Tribune Company syndicate back in the days of Col. McCormick, and noted for her headgear).

The news is just breaking

Tracys’ shoulder sure is aching

His vest took most of the shot

And only a little bit of lead he caught

Body armor can be such a friend

When your on the receiving end

Of those who seek you to kill

And your blood they would spill

He struggles and puts up a fight

Tells the EMTs the wound is only slight

“I’m a cop, I’ve been shot before”

He says as he crawls for the door

“This is nothing new in my life”

“Go ahead, just ask my wife”

Tess gently smiles as they administer the anesthetic

Thinking, “Sometimes his macho b.s. is just pathetic”

So sleep now Tracy, for when you awake

Another case you must undertake

I think Vista Bill, his tongue he should bite

Words like that could lead to a fight

Though I must admit it makes me squeals

When I remember the wonderful Pig On Wheels

To me it was the high point of the story

And it shall forever be covered in glory

But “It happened” were the words we heard

Man, that story sure was a ….

But no longer do we have worry or fret

And I think it’s safe to bet

That Joe and Mike will keep up the tension

Not like that clown whose name I won’t mention

I mean as a villain he wasn’t tops

Even if his name was Mr. ….

Relax Dick, a local hospital awaits. Better hope none of Mr. Crime’s surviving leftovers go there too. Can you see the scene in the ER waiting area? I don’t think that shoulder wound could keep Tracy from adding a little more “injury” to “insult.”

Owie! Shoulder wounds HURT and the physical therapy for recovery is harsh. but Tess will be by his side.

tracy took a shot by Panda, wendy wichel is on the case, and tess trueheart tracy is tendign to her man… looks like the big cheese DIDNT ghet out of this one unharmed! Lizz gets stabbed, Sam gets bullwhipped, Patton gets shot, and Tracy takes a shot to the shoulder… cant wait to see the “tally” on the distaff side!~ :)

Here’s hoping that Dick and Pat share the same hospital room! I wonder if Tracy and company will get raked over the coals by Wendy because an “innocent bystander” (Davey) died during the raid.

Considering all the hits taken by the good guys, I wonder if the next story is going to take place in a hospital!With most of the MCU injured, who’s going to protect the city?When are we going to find out how the Chief is?And did most of the bad guys wear body armor, too? (It would explain Doubleup taking four or five shots.)So many questions, and so few panels each day!

We need an Excel spreadsheet telling us who got winged; who got shot; and who bought the farm. And for those who croak later, they can advance from one column to the next. So far, the happiest guy is the barracuda! He got fed!

The woman known as “Frizzletop” was an army nurse who had lost an arm during a Japanese air raid in the Philippines. She first met Dick Tracy during his encounter with the criminal Tiger Lilly.

I don’t like the look of that medic in the background. He seems a bit sinister.

All I can say about this story is that I strongly believe Mr. Stanton & Mr. Curtis deserve Reubens for this story!! So far, this story has been a roller coaster in which you expect what’s going to happen the next day, it doesn’t happen. I thought Panda was going to get blown away by Tess, instead, he winds up in a fish bowl and I don’t know whether or not if Panda will survive this incident. Like I said, this is a wild roller coaster ride and you don’t know who will die or survive in this ordeal. I remember reading “Dick Tracy” in my early teens, the TV show (I loved it!), and I don’t know all of the characters, but this one fun ride.

I am still wondering how Blaze is going to take this. Afterall, I think she has "Flattop’s " blood and DNA running through her body. I hope I can see some more femme fatalles (I hope I spelled this right. I am in a hurry.) in DT though.

The artwork is awesome (as usual). I love the perspective in panel 2 and the expression on Tess’s face in 3.

Is it me, or does Wendy Wichel look like Carmen Sandiego?

That’s true, the Pig-On-Wheels would help Tracy to recover much faster. He got us all through some tough times.

Tracy’s shoulder probably looks like a colander by now, the amount of times over the years that he’s been shot in it.

Today’s strip’s a really neat idea – showing a news bulletin (like the one Frizzletop was watching yesterday), and using it to tell us what happened to Tracy!Love this strip!
