I read War and Peace many years ago. It actually did turn out to be a very good read, which shouldn’t be that surprising. Sometimes there’s a good reason why a book is considered a classic.

Well, I enjoyed the first 1400 pages or so. The last 30, where Tolstoy says goodbye to his characters and goes off on an essay about free will (if I recall correctly) were a bit of a snoozer.

War and Peace, or as it’s called lately in Tolstoy’s homeland: “Special Military Operation and No End”

If you just read the first page or so and the last page or so of War and Peace, you can make a long story short.

I think it’s more of an indictment of the climate czars from around the world flying private jets to a climate change conference. That is a “stupid waste”.

Worried about the rainforest by spending and exuding fuels from every vehicle to get there…. OK..
