Not unexpectedly, Lt. Teevo is caught with his hands dirty. Now, what’s the Tracy strategy? —Do we put the screws to Teevo (I guess MCU can’t waterboard him) and try to get information out of him directly; or, do we play along with his excuse and feed him misinformation? I think the latter might be more productive….
I suspect they’ll start feeding him false information. Chewing gum on the lense is cute but wouldn’t a box or something that obstructed the camera’s view have been a little more natural?
A further thought occurs . . . the LENS (below table) allows only VISUALS, while a hidden microphone carries the sound of talk and police plans !.Seems the latter is of greater importance than looking at say, Lizz’s legs (?) attractive as they certainly are !Seem to recall that Panda’s earlier visuals had heads, arms etc (?) Is there a second lens at a higher level ?
I guess chewing gum stuck under the table in the coffee room would be natural and Teevo is just – possibly – cleaning up gum without noticing that it’s on a camera??
WOW !!! I just figured out who Panda is … his real name is Harley Pasternak !!! … and his daytime show, “The Revolution” just got canceled. :•) … -Just kidding, but as Joe and Shelley render him, Panda looks exactly like Harley Pasternak.
Actually, ‘sûreté’ means security or safety (as in ‘public safety’) as ‘literally’ as it means ‘surety’. Picking the first translation of a word in a bilingual dictionary isn’t always a good idea. I remember coming across a reference in a Canadian travel brochure to ‘savage forests’, which took me aback until I realized that the writer was probably a Francophone who picked the first English word for ‘sauvage’ in his Francais-Anglais dictionary instead of going a bit farther until he found ‘wild’.
Prrdh,.Re your comment:.No, it doesn’t mean it as “literally,” because “literally” has a literal meaing..I know that, in a general, inferential sense, surete might mena security, but there is already a French word, “securite,” that LITERALLY means security..Similarly, “safety” is usually translated as “securite” or “solidete.”.What struck me as interesting is that, when Vidocq (who I assume was the person who coined the name) called the agency the Surete Nationale, he used a word that seemed to imply prevention, rather than detection. Yet Vidocq (a future Hall of Famer, BTW) is generally celebrated as France’s first detective.
The real question now is, what is Tracy going to next?Toss Teevo into the slammer and feed Panda phony information?Or will Teevo end up as plant food? Either way, I don’t see him collecting on his police pension.
Congratulations to all of you clever readers who pegged Lt. Teevo as the mole! Unless, of course, you other clever readers are correct, and this is a red herring in the story. Could it actually be that Teevo just found the gum by accident, and was really just cleaning it up?Also, could we get a word from Joe Staton – did he deliberately make Lt. Teeve look like Nixon?
sorry but teevo is too obvious to be the mole… .besides, remember.. mike said theres TWO MOLES at hq, not only one so maybe ther OTHER, CORRECT mole is still on their way to the room. it will be interesting to see who enters the room next!

They should keep Teevo from talking to anyone and put out phony info on his spycam to trap Panda and Mumbles.

So who is it that ends up feeding that hungry muerte vine, Teevo or Leonard? Mr. Crime can’t be happy with either of them right now.

I wonder what Panda had on Teevo to turn him. Moreover, will he be turned by SCU to become a triple agent?

There’s a door on the break room. Not a bad place for a camera but it would miss a lot.

Your translation on Sûreté is incorrect.
Simply think about “safety matches”: the French translation is “allumettes de sécurité”.
Sécurity vs Surety.
The real question is: why are they using this word ? I do not know.
emile.a.schwarz over 12 years ago
Surety is not the translation for Sûreté…
