I missed saying anything about the current storyline in my Saturday report, so I’ll just briefly give a mid-week list of characters to hold you over until this Saturday. We are on Day 14 of this story and 21 characters have appeared (14) or have been mentioned (m: 7). There could be more because we are still in the first act, I think, but Putty Puss seems rather important so far. I don’t think we’ve seen the last of him. He is followed by Notta and Blaze. Mr. Bribery and Matty Squared have had quite a bit of “air time” but it’s still unclear if they are involved in this story or just preparing for a future endeavor. Of course, Tracy is very important in this story because the plot revolves around him in a way that it sometimes doesn’t in other stories.

I think our self righteous mayor overstepped her bounds by at least a leap.Realistically, she might have to suspend Tracy pending an investigation, but with pay. To take his pay away is to cross the line into punishment, and punishment should never be applied until someone is proven guilty. Also, Pat is a long time member of the police force with an unblemished record. He would be in a position to at least argue with the mayor, trying to make her see reason. Why does this woman hold so much sway over everybody? Tracy, Pat and Sam have been through several mayors in the course of their career.
I my home State, small town mayor decides to use police car for personal use; mayor fires police chief; city council reinstates; Mayor vetoes vote, council overrides veto; mayor sues sues police chief; councilman thrown in jail during hearing; and in case you think that is an anomaly, another town not 20 miles from that one is going thru the same thing.
Oh Jeez, Wizzer in Alley Oop and Tracey here. Why would the mayor bounce Tracey without even an inquest. Don’t they have, oh, I don’t know, due process laws? Or an FOP? Lawmans Association? Come on. She didn’t even ask “Is this you?”
SOMEBODY needs to remind the high and mighty Mayor Armstrong about how SHE took a bribe from Oliver Warbucks to have the ENTIRE MCU/S team pulled off EVERY case they were working on so they could go find where Annie was.
OK, it’s just a comic strip story, BUT…you know, I really find it hard to believe the TV station manager would air that “Fallar story” without some very good verification. It leaves the station wide open for $$$$$ millions in libel lawsuits.
It’s curious that Wendy’s picture is on the police monitor. I don’t remember ever seeing a non-criminal or someone who wasn’t a “person of interest” on those monitors since Staton and Curtis took over. Does the MCU suspect Wendy of foul play?
All right, I was wrong and it was recognizably Notta Fallar in the Smear Job video. But this still makes the police work easier. No need to track down her identity; possible to verify her whereabouts; possibility of rebuttal witnesses; etc.
Mayor Armstrong, who should be called “Headstrong,” seems to be a female blend of the Chicago (=Tracyville) Mayors Daley, père et fils, noted for direct and immediate action (such as the illegal but unstopped and unchallenged destruction of Meigs Field, the executive airport on the downtown lakefront, bulldozed without notice overnight, because that’s what the mayor wanted). Tracy may be benched, but Pat Patton should do a good job for his old partner and friend—if Mayor “Headstrong” Armstrong doesn’t handicap him, too….
@TXPAScotYou ARE new in town, aren’t you Mayor Armstrong?
She’s been around awhile, we just don’t see her so much. She’s been around since at least 2012. This is the third story in a row in which she has appeared, although she hadn’t been seen for at least 11 months before that.
Tracy’s passport has the date he left Mexico. MP3s, AVI… have metadata, most of which includes creation date. Videotapes usually have creation date on them. If he wasn’t even in the country (according to the US Government), when the tape was made, the Mayor would look bad.
Yeah. Although it’s probably impossible to tell Mr. Magoo from Squinty Eyes, the context suggested that it was Squinty Eyes shown on the monitor, and he was a killer, so I guess that wasn’t an example of a good guy on the monitors.
This is meant to be a fun story we should just kick back and enjoy…….obviously ANYTHING with Putty Puss in it is usually a laugh nowadays, like when he duplicated Sam robbing a bank and Diet giving a funny speech…..the grim days of him putting Tracy on exhibit in the wax museum are gone……so again, I’m ignoring the holes in logic and just enjoying this……
I’m sorry, but we have cops all over the country killing people and if anything is done to them, they are suspended WITH pay. Tracy magically shows up in a video shown by a known Tracy-hater, and he’s immediately losing his pay. That just stretches suspension of disbelief way too much. They’re members of a Union meaning you have to follow a set of rules in disciplining anyone, then IA will gather evidence for that disciplinary hearing. You don’t get to unilaterally suspend someone without pay. First time since I found this site over 3 years ago that I’ve not liked something Mike has done because this is just silly. Put him on desk duty, make him use some of his possibly 2,000 vacation days, whatever, but this is just too much. IA is there for a reason.
The mayor is overreacting and violating department procedures with this action. My biggest gripe about the Tracy strip currently is the suspension of logic in many cases. It would make a much more clear story if they stuck to more believable scenarios and more expectable behaviors from characters as well as filling in missing information that was ignored in the story. We never did find out what happened to most of the Blackhearts last year. I liked the way this story was going until the last few days. Unbelievable.

Always wondered what Mayor Armstrong’s problem is with Tracy. He’s the best, most successful member of the city’s police force!

Well, this is going to make it much harder to clear Dick’s name. Apparently, it’s obvious that it’s Notta in the video.

This is an election year…..maybe it’s time the good mayor retires due to illness (i.e. the voters got sick of her).

BTW – I still think Tracy is in for a Hulk Hogan-style payoff….Tracy would make a good replacement for Amos Burke.

If Tracy is removed officially, will he work with “outside” investigators Tess & Johnny Adonis to clear his name? Just a theory.
