Assuming any money is found, who gets it? Same for Guy, since he’s now a piece of evidence. And Kidnapping moves this up to major crime. (Since there wasn’t evidence of Howdy shooting at Dethany)
So Sleet is now Sam’s “best snitch”! Back in Tracy’s town, and cooperating with the man she and her mother tried to kill! I guess Boston’s prison system has perfected the rehabilitation of their prisoners!
Like I said earlier, some of this dredging up of old characters seems like it is just so Joe has an opportunity to draw them. I was looking forward to seeing what Sleet would look like with Shelley’s inks, but it looks like yesterday’s glimpse of Sleet might be a one-off. Unless, perhaps, they have set up the fact that Sleet is in town, working at the Glass stem, in this story, and will then elaborate on that in another story. If that’s what they did, then that’s pretty good writing, actually. We’ll have to wait and see.
1-DETH WARMEDOVER: HA! Look at the dude dressed in primary colors. What a dufus…oh. Sorry Tracy.
2-SAM: Hey Tracy. Are there any prowl cars left in the motor pool? The valet at the Glass Stem couldn’t find mine when I left last night. And I’ll need a gun. Mine was in the glove box.
3-SAM: Hey! What’s so funny?
DT: Deth just made a hilarious observation about how your outfit is a primary color. HA HA! SAM: Can you name the three primary colors, Dick?
DT: Well, not all…I wanna say 50 of them… of course. BUT I KNOW ONE OF THEM IS GREEN!
DETH: ACTUALLY, I’m laughing because I just farted.
I know, it’s hilarious that this was passed off as a logical crime and detection story. It is beyond amusing that they could pull a character out of mothballs yesterday and make the readers believe that it would be something necessary to the plot rather than just another excuse to revive a long-forgotten character nobody cared about. Then when Sam reports back, Tracy and Dethany laugh in his face? Well, har-de-har.

Won’t be long until we see
The chance to say “Well glory be!”
Lady D will fly away
Only Dick and Sam will stay
There’s not much left for me to say
The brightness soon must fade to gray

Good morning™, reporters of the obvious!
Well, at least Sam managed to confirm what they already knew.

Judging from Dethany’s chipper look in the first panel, I’d bet the reason they’re laughing is because they’ve already put the collar on the klutzes.

Maybe in captivity, Guy will accidentally discover the hidden money?

Wait! She was just sobbing uncontrollably two panels ago, with her man kidnapped, and now she’s giggling? Wow, she moves on fast!

If Tracyville is modeled on Chicago, I hate to tell Tracy it’s gonna be 100F degrees F in Chicago today. He might want to lose the overcoat.

Very deep analysis Neil. Keep them coming. Ken in Ohio’s right..these guys steal and draw Gould stuff very well.

Cross-over? Check. Use of an out-of-left-field-snitch-character to fast-track the story? Check. Stop at the Patterson Playhouse? Coming up?
