Well, I guess Uncle Steelface got him the audition and the casting director likes him, as long as he passes the singing audition. Variations of “This is America, ain’t it? Ain’t this America?” appear at least 15 times in the book.
“But the LOOK is all wrong. Can ya’ pop an eye out an’ flail around a lot? Think ‘Popeye meets Bruce Lee’. YEAH! THAT’S what the audience wants! I’ve read the comments on the Tracy board.”
“Golly, Sir! I only know WHEELS ON THE BUS but it’s the AC/DC cover and I knock it out of the ballpark! Oh, and I accompany myself on the kazoo at the same time!”
I wonder what the crime will be. No, don’t tell me…somebody is going to rob the ticket window. Whole lot of good that will do the perpetrator if the majority of attendees used their credit cards.
Yeah, no director is going to say “you’ve got the part if…” in the middle of an audition. Especially when, I assume, there are more people to audition.
Can’t wait for Opening Night! A new hit musical to replace the retiring champion (so to speak; Phantom of the Opera was Broadway’s longest-running show), Vitamin Flintheart’s Funny Papers, featuring singing Nephew Robert (I have no idea what his family name is supposed to be)! Will the critics warm to it? Will Wendy Wichel try to sink it?

3-STEELFACE’S BOYFRIEND: The door is back that way. Tell your Uncle that I now want to see other people.
ROBERT: Thank you and I hope we passed the audition…*

If Robert has no “tweet” (can’t sing) maybe he can get some lessons from Tonsils.

It is a wonder that B.O. Plenty did not try to see if there was a part for Lil’ Attitude.

Oh surely some tickets are available for members of MCU, Sam probably took care of it.

Too bad they cannot take some liberties and let Robert sing, John Mellencamp’s " Ain’t That America".

So he’s perfect for the part but he can’t sing? And Uncle Steelface will have to step in?
