Sounds like the warehouse might be where they hid the shipment of stolen equipment. We know that the TV station (I thought it might be a radio station) is where the scamming call centre is located.
Sam & Tracy could also try looking for a building that has a lot of cars parked in front of it. Audie’s employees have to get to work somehow, & I don’t think a bus or subway line runs very much to that section of town.
Let’s assume for a moment the warehouse is another piece of stucco. (I.e. has nothing to with the plot. And, in real life, police have to look at a lot of pieces of stucco. It is only in fiction that the brilliant detectives find the one bit of evidence that proves/explains everything. In real life the police have hundreds of dead ends to chase down.) We’ve see the old TV station is being used. And, were the building close together, Tracy would have said, ’They’re close’ rather than ‘The warehouse is close’. So, what’s drawing power at the warehouse?
I was looking back a little, trying to make some sense of this.
After Tracy found the piece of stucco, he and Sam left the scene of the murder and took the freeways (very nice art) on their way to find Tracy’s informant. They ended up in the same neighborhood as the TV station, and the killer almost walked right into their arms. If the killer was on foot, how did he get to the warehouse district at the same time? Maybe he took a cab, but it would have been nice if we had been shown that. I’m thinking that there are way too many cooks working on this stew.
It’s a completely trivial point, but Sam moved to the other side of the car from yesterday and I just noticed the color of the light bar. For the most part, the light bar has been colored with the blue on the passenger side. Team Tracy’s colors have shown that consistently. The dailies’ colorist has mostly followed suit except for a couple of strips early on where the colors were reversed. Sam has been driving this whole time, which means that he should be getting in on the red side. Sam didn’t move from one side of the car to the other from yesterday, Tracy did, and today’s light bar is the wrong color… unless we are going to see Tracy in the driver’s seat now.
With the help of the Police Dispatcher (panel 1), Tracy (mostly working alone; Sam just stands by in the background, looking all too self-satisfied and smug, considering his scant contribution to this investigation; panel 2) puts together the clues so far and plots the known electrified locations on a computer map (panel 3) showing them approximately 12 blocks apart (or, if using a Chicago-like grid, about a mile-and-a-half).
Heavy, heavy hangs over thy head, Audie. The po-po is coming!

First, they better break up that underground TV station. Who knows what kind of commie stuff they’re broadcasting on the down-low.

Actually the warehouse would still have the last owners name attached. Also she didn’t give Dick the name of the TV Station like he asked.

Unfortunately Dick didn’t notice that he had the orientation on his watch set 90 degrees clockwise and they ended up busting a Starbucks.

1-911 OPERATOR: 911 – What is your emergency?
2-DT: Me and Sam are lost again. OPERATOR: This is Tracy I presume. I’m sending a map of your current location and directions to the nearest deli.
3-DT: That’s great. Uh. What do these lines and arrows mean? OPERATOR: Sigh Never mind. I’m sending a cruiser to lead you out.
DT: That’s better! Let’s just start with that from now on.
