Poor Pops. His world is crashing down around and on top of him like a stack of dishes hitting the floor. Dick is looking like some ‘wet behind the ears’ recent grad from detective school. And Pops is having a nervous break down. Can we get another rescue truck here ?!
If we are now suspecting it may be a case of food poisoning from the kitchen, why did we spend so much time talking about Palmer and where the plates came from? Shouldn’t Tracy have moved straight to the kitchen (as it were) rather than asking about the victim’s business partner?
This story makes no sense – the deli’s owner has a deal where two guys pay their tab with free plates? And Tracy is running after other customers before checking out the kitchen staff? Yeah, this whole thing is Meshuggah.
An interesting feature of Eric’s writing that has become clear is the change in “camera” angle from a similar perspective designed to capture multiple reactions. He shows instead of telling a lot, which isn’t a bad thing.
On the other hand, he doesn’t always make sense, leaving a lot of questions open. For example, what do plates with the universal symbol for poison on them have to do with poisoning someone? Was the poison somehow coating the plate(s)? How would the poisoner know whether Popski would wash the plates or not before using them? Was the victim the intended target or were they hoping someone, anyone, in the café would be poisoned? Why use such an obvious design choice for poisoning? Did they want to be caught? For a few days now, what Eric has showed us is how much despair Popski has rather than show us a coherent case.

Good morning™, all!
Popski is beside himself. The question is how they could have targeted a particular customer.

If Shelley is indeed gone, I will be very disappointed. Her abilities brought life to the strip.
I was looking forward to working with her. We would have made a great team!

So, did the choking guy from Monday die? Or just throw up? I’m still not clear what’s going on.

If you’re a small restaurant owner,Health Department searches still carry a lot of weight. Tracy may take the case just to save the eatery.
