That newspaper is drawn much too big, unless B.D. has drastically shrunk.

When you get older a lot of things shrink or droop.

This looks like a 1950’s sitcom.

I expect Wally and the Beaver to run in at any moment.

A couple I know are retires schoolteachers. For all their working schoolteacher lives, she cleaned the house. After they retired and were in their 70’s, she wanted to hire a cleaning lady and he volunteered to take up the cleaning chores – if she paid him instead of the cleaning lady. And she agreed. He saw no irony in this. So now she pays him to clean up after himself.

looks about right to me. what blew me away was the size of the newspapers in an old Basil Rathbone ‘Sherlock Holmes’ newspaper, HUGE!

Is anyone else concerned about Boopsie? Is she just commenting on getting older and not able to effortlessly make dinner? Or is this foreshadowing something more serious?

She’s just a bit too subtle.

I don’t know whether it’s me or the packaging industry but opening a bag of chips now takes a pair of scissors (and they had better be sharp). I have literally sprained my wrists trying to open such bags with my fingers alone.

This strip isn’t just about B.D.‘s chauvinism. It’s also about Boopsie getting older. This feels like the start of a storyline.

I feel like there’s something symbolic about the apple on the counter with one slice cut out of it.

Does anyone else think BD might have voted for Trump? Maybe he just stayed home and drank beer, but I can’t see him voting for a Democrat — not that there’s anything WRONG with that…

I for one am kind of glad to see a strip that’s not about either COVID or Ukraine. It reminds me that the rest of the world still keeps on going and still matters.

Is it just me, or do Boopsie’s eyes look a bit hollow? And she’s thinking about things being more difficult than she expected. It’s worrying.

Mr. Clueless meets The Enabler.

I walk the doggos, feed the chickens, collect the eggs, clean the coop, feed and brush the horse, muck out the barn, feed the cats, including Odinsdottir who requires her food dish to be on the top of the refrigerator, and I feed the doggos. I don’t take care of the litter boxes because we have Litter-Robots. And I get up early to make tea and breakfast. And my left leg looks a lot like BD’s left leg. My only concession to that is I now use a recumbent bicycle. Having a leg taken from me did not take my “get up and go.” And still do telemedicine 3 days a week and clinic/housecalls two days. BD has never been among my favourite characters in this strip. He has always struck me as being too lazy. Even Zonker has more ambition and works harder.

Don’t get me wrong, I like the strip very much. On a scale of 1 -100 all the main characters are in the high 90s except BD. He’s about an 89.

Panel 5 shows Boopsie in a classic angle and expression. Well done.

Boopsie’s eyes are starting to freak me out a little. I get that she’s getting older, and she’s always had big eyes, but they just look weird to me now. I did a Google search to compare this Boopsie to her younger self, and it seems like the difference isn’t just the extra lines from aging.
