Uh oh. Doonesbury is now skewering deSantis. That could mean he’ll be the next Republican presidential nominee.

So we now have politicians (among whom are 6 people wearing black robes) who claim to know more than teachers about education, more than librarians about books, more than environmentalists about the environment, more than Thomas Jefferson about the philosophy the nation was founded on, and more than actual women about the bodies those women are living in.

Sinclair Lewis wrote It Can’t Happen Here in 1935 to show just exactly how it can happen here. Half a century after that, Margaret Atwood wrote The Handmaid’s Tale to show what results when religious fundamentalists get a good grip on the levers of political power. Both of those dystopian novels were intended as fiction, not as a blueprint for today’s Republican Party, but that’s what they’ve turned into.

It’s been a trite saying for decades now that “This next election is the most important one of our lifetime”, but it keeps coming true. Let’s hope that it doesn’t turn into “the last election of our lifetime”. But don’t just hope, do something!

desantis’s newest “policy” is a three-day “civics” workshop expounding the “facts” that slavery was no big deal—TJ and GW were against slavery (leaving out the fact that both owned slaves) and that, actually, the “founding fathers” were not against separation of church and state. He’s also going to be allowed to draw FL’s voting district map this week. This man is beyond dangerous.

Anyone else notice DeScantis is even doing all of DT’s mannerisms during speeches? Watch the hands, his pauses etc. I’ve only seen during news reports, whatever of those we have left.

I do wish they’d stop all the social nonsense in education. Teach Math and just math. I hate paying for something where a young kid is behind the counter and can’t handle money without the computer telling him how many of each currency to give me back. And, when I give a little extra so I don’t have a bunch of change in my pocket it throws them into a conniption fit.

If nothing else we have shown the world that a binary opposing party political system that spawns division rather than consensus is not beneficial to its citizens.

He has no empathy and won’t look anyone in the eye. His whole being exudes unbridled ambition. And, what makes him dangerous, he is a lot smarter than Trump. He won’t stop at Dictator. He wants to be Emperor.

Florida is a state run by cavemen.

No – I can’t say that, because in Florida they don’t believe cavemen existed.

Hypocrite Republicans want to decide what books kids can read, what math and history they can learn, which words they can use, which sports they can play, which sexes are acceptable, and who to vote for, while telling them, “The Libs are coming for your freedom!”

Amazing how the left bashes DeSantis and Florida, yet the largest groups moving into Florida are from Blue states. They are fleeing the high taxes and regulations imposed on them in their home state, trouble is they then try and change the state to what they left. Can you say Californians and the states of Oregon and Washington? When a large chunk of the state wants to secede and join Idaho, you know how much the left has screwed up the state.

If this were not so true it would be funny. Make no mistake dictator desantis is out to control everything. The only hope for our country, our democracy is total annihilation of the republican party at the ballot box. We the people can do this but it is the last chance we will ever get.

    Florida’s lifeblood is tourism.

Yet the halfwit governor sabotages the State’s biggest attractions because they had the guts to hurt his teeny-weeny feelings.
