I experienced something similar with my oldest grandson who loved to draw. I tried to be tactful at guessing what he drew and not to upset him if I guessed wrong. I’m happy to report that at 7 years old, I am able to decipher and accurately identify what he draws and he is a decent artist.

Don’t they feed those kids at the daycare? April has got pizza on her mind, and that blonde girl looks so hungry she’s eating her rabbit’s foot!

He has two other kids, he should already know the rule about never guessing.

Mothers know what to say. Be ambiguous. Let the child tell you what it is. Saves a lot of tears.

If she had said daddy is a serial killer, I’d be a bit concerned

If she can’t say the /s/ in “it’s” then she can’t say the /z/ in “pizza”. Just sayin’.

This is why I’ve learned to say, “Tell me about your picture!”

Once again we have an incongruity in April’s development. Today she’s speaking in whole sentences. Just a few days ago, she was being treated like an inarticulate infant.

I hope kids don’t still do it but a long time ago they used to call classmates with severe acne, pizzaface. And after seeing someone with really severe acne I can see why. So maybe John’s confusion is excusable. (Not really)

Always first ask the child to tell you the story about their picture.

The response always is, “Tell me about your painting/drawing/sculpture.”

I just saw the episode of “Black-ish” where the school was concerned about Devante. And of course Dre and Bow can’t have the one Black kid at that school being less than capable.
