    You can thank mega-publishers like Pearson for their stranglehold on the textbook game and the kids’ oversized backpacks stuffed with books, workbooks, etc.

    There have been some studies that show that you absorb info differently using an ebook vs. an actual book and so far, actual books are better. A part of me wonders if this is because we older folks aren’t actually used to reading ebooks and if that will change with the younger generation.

    There are more scholarly works, but this will give you the general idea.

    It takes a lot of space and bulk to make them bullet resistant. Especially against the higher energy rounds from an Assault Rifle.
