More tragic was the fact that I failed to read the high altitude instructions when I wove the malaria net into a wedding dress. The result was a pair of patent leather tuxedo shoes as a single order of duck confit.
I ran through all the usual scary things. Zombies, mummies, insect invasions, improperly prepared pancakes. I briefly toyed with a Bride of Frankenstein motif. It had real potential. There would be a central body outline, and a head, with a variety of other body parts, all tinted green, with paper doll tabs, as a joke. But it required a slightly ribald nature to really bring it home, so I abandoned it. Also, it had too many pieces, both literally and figuratively. The design needed to be simple. It needed uncluttered lines. It needed warm autumnal colors. It needed to be something beyond my capacity to imagine at the moment. I should have gone with a creative genius power instead of telekinesis. Was there even one? There had to be, right? Maybe special glasses that let you see marketability?
Please be patient with me as I try to add new posts to my FA page. I am chicken-pecking this comment with my left hand. My right arm (from shoulder to fingertips), is deadweight from a nerve block that could last as long as 50 hours. If you saw 3hr’s comment on Tuesday (Oct 22), I had shoulder replacement surgery. My biggest setback, though, is that I am required to submit my cartoons in a whole new way, which took effect on the day of my surgery. I knew this requirement was looming, but I had hoped that it would not coincide with my surgery date. I received lengthy and last-minute instructions to follow, which I don’t have the focus to comprehend… at least not while my right arm is numb and dangling like a string of snot from a water buffalo’s snout. (Do buffalo have noses or snouts?) Has anyone else had a knee, shoulder or hip replaced? I had both knees replaced around 9 years ago. Some good news: my hemoglobin is now 9.5 after dropping dangerously low to 5.2. I don’t need any more blood transfusions, but I am still getting weekly iron infusions. My fingers are getting tired, so I will wrap up this lame update.
If anyone sends me an email, I won’t be able to reply with paragraphs, just a short sentence or two. Sorry. Feel free to include lots of words in your email(s)!
I’d send you an email with lots of words if I had your address. In the meantime, I do hope your recovery goes well and I look forward to what comes next! Rest and feel better!!
So we have to go out on a limb, and be disarmed. Rest assured, we will undertake to shoulder your burden, least we burden your shoulder. Truly, the times are out of joint.
I don’t know why the new FA isn’t loading. I will try reloading it again. I might have to wait until the GoComics people are back in their offices tomorrow.

Oh, I’m sorry, I borrowed it. I thought it was cheesecloth. I used it to strain my beef stock.

…malaria nets contain insecticide that can last for years…
…so it depends on your definition of defective…
…of course it would be perfect for Wednesday Addams wedding …
…she’s marrying Adam Lambert…
…with no amount of Brian May or Roger Taylor…
…will ever be a Freddie Mercury…
…and without the brilliance of John Deacon …
…no matter how much of Queen’s crew and equipment…
…is not Queen…
…and while having 30 year hired hands pretending to be the Cat & the Spaceman …
…it’s still more Paul Stanley and the Gene Simmons show …
…than it is KI$$…
…I am not denying their talents and hard works…
…these nets are defective…
