No, then she’ll ask “What’s wrong?” And that’ll be that.
Maybe she’ll kiss it and make all better.
and don’t call it a boo-boo, either.
I see no reason not to admit you’re hurting, we women do actually realize men are human! However calling it a booboo does seem a bit silly/childish
this is why jon and liz don’t have a child
That always works for me.
6 year old.
Silly Jon. Be truthful with Liz.
I used to kiss my kids boo boos. They always thought it helped.
To be fair, finger injuries really suck!
Then his next piece of advice to Jon would be “Suck it up, Buttercup!”
not only it’s dumb, male or not should be allowed to cry in pain but also…Jon will never manage to even pretend to be manly.
Jon I’m pretty sure as a vet Liz has dealt with worse than you crying, she won’t mind
If the boo boo’s a paper cut then that’s pathetic of Jon crying
Jon is psychic, confirmed.
I’m not being stoic if I’m hurt or injured if I have little reaction, I just don’t want to talk about it.
How did you get your boo-boo, Jon?
Liz is a doctor. She’ll figure it all out in about ten seconds.
Some of my earliest memories are of my Dad telling me not to cry.
Boo boos are more serious than owies.
“MY BOO-BOO REALLY HURTS”
(imagines a different version of this part of the dialogue of this cartoon)
THIS FINGER REALLY HURTS
“BUT, I CAN’T LET ON TO LIZ”
I CAN’T LET LIZ KNOW ABOUT THIS.
“SHED STRONG, MANLY TEARS”
SHED STRONG TEARS; MASCULINE ONES
One has to wonder how Jon hurt his finger, and if he can shed manly tears from something as menial as a paper cut or a prick from a needle, then that is pathetic.
Surprised Jon isn’t sporting a Hello Kitty bandaid.
Have her kiss it
What happened to him hiding underneath the bed to hide his tears? (A comic strip in Garfield’s Fifth Treasury)
Always works for me.
If he didn’t already have a bandage on it, I would just say “Run some cold water over it Arbuckle, it will be fine.”
Yes, Jon, and bite your lower lip as you squeeze your eyes as shut as they can be: very masculine behaviour.
Jon you are like most men can’t stand pain
If she thinks less of you for a reason like that, she’s not worth worrying about.
Naah! We’re just tough (Paul Hogan). Pass me my bush knife (machete) — I need a shave.
