Avery gives Walt advice on the potential lake cottage deal.

The Chief reaffirms his decision to give Moonglow’s hand to Crazy, then he’s ready to take off.

Brenda doesn’t care where Lance came from, only who he is today. Meanwhile, Gracie is ready to take off.

Wilmer and Jessica are about ready to take off, until the boys come back from a job. They do look just a bit suspicious, don’t they?

I don’t know either.

What is with the scary eyes on these kids?

Isn’t Jones the kid found wandering in the woods, and cared for by a bear? Did they find his parents? Did Slim and Clovia take him in?

Looks like Ida may save the day and get the girls back from space. Will she destroy her nemesis the robot, too?

Look, I get that the deal with cursèd objects is that they use their sinister powers to compel hapless victims to pass them from person to person so they can wreak havoc, but I do like how blasé Gertie is about it here. “Sorry Jones, they’re not here, they’re gasping for air as the last of their oxygen runs out. You want this doll? She’s inhabited by a demon from the depths of hell and her very existence is an affront to God. Give it to Ava Luna if you see her!”

It must be a cultural thing in the town of Gasoline Alley, where everyone is apparently required to do Jazz Hands while they talk.

Now come on, Jimbo. It just is not possible to keep a toddler that you find wandering around and, if you think it is, try doing that some time and see what happens. I know this is “just a comic strip” but why has there has been no effort made to find the parents or a relative and no apparent effort by anybody to find Jones (good thing he wasn’t wearing a Nike or Abercrombie shirt)? And would the dreaded “authorities” let two middle-aged parents whose other son is 20 years old and wanders around in the woods imagining he talks to a bear be the caretaker? The ones who are such great parents that they let the barely three year-old wander around town looking for 8 year-old girls who should be in school? Why has this once great strip become such a mess? According to the syndicate, “readers return daily for this positive slice of life, with universal themes and commonplace situations.” Clearly nobody at the syndicate is reading this drivel.

It takes a lot of bad writing to completely ruin a 100 year-old strip but Scancarelli is clearly up to the task. Is this the most poorly written comic strip out there today? Even “Alley Oop” or “Chickweed Lane” isn’t as bad as this.

Sounds like Avery is talking Walt out of the cottage that he might like it for himself. Oh, and he’ll take a free tent spot in the yard, thank you very much ! ~ Rick goes off in search of a ‘shiner maker, leaving the chief with a final word of caution about the high altitude buck off. – Being locked into a marriage she doesn’t want, Moonglow makes a veiled threat as to disabling the chief’s flying toy. – Due to lack of experience and even instruction the chief is back on terra firma in less time than it took to launch. Does Crazy still get Moonie as his angry NOT blushing bride ? ~ Bren Bren affirms her undying love and devotion to adoptee boy, Lance, while Gracie bruskly leaves the bed she is supposed to stay in. ~ Just when “wilbur” and Jessie thought things were in control the “mob” shows up. :-O
