Dean’s the big cheese for writing about a hero who cuts the cheese.

The moon landings were faked. Vaccines cause autism. Fart jokes are funny.

The last panel is the same one he drew for the end of the graphic novel debate arc, flipped over and slightly modified.

Welcome to the world of rejection, Heart. Get used to it if you want to be a writer.

Know your audience. In your case Heart your audience are immature idiots. Dean wrote what his audience wanted. Heart wrote a more sophisticated story. Dean would grow rich from his writing, if he stuck with it, while Heart would, after years of practice, win her literary awards for quality writing.

That’s the audience award for you. Did the teacher read it?

Not having read Dean’s book, I can’t much comment on its quality, but Heart’s was pretty predictable with no real sense of danger or drama since her main character was a Mary Sue who was instantly good at everything. She learned her powers with no real degree of difficulty, and they never failed her when she needed them, thus no moments of real crisis. With Fert, who knows? Perhaps there was a worldwide bean shortage just before he was to face his arch nemesis, and things were looking grim until the battle brought them upon a broccoli field.

Paul has it all wrong….He mistook grade three humor as being still in at that age…grade six is way too old for fart jokes. If I remember correctly, the boys were into sports at recess, and the girls were into crushing on those boys….

I prefer “Leexa” without even reading Dean’s. Why? Because I came from a family of seven kids, raised four boys and absolutely despise “fart jokes”.

Me too. Fart jokes are for children. Unsophisticated ones at that.

For years, CBS broadcasted “Blazing Saddles” as its movie of the week. The campfire scene was cut. When I was 12, I saw the uncut version of “Blazing Saddles” on a premium cable channel. The next time I laughed that hard was almost 20 years later when I saw “The Producers” on Broadway.

Well, I guess that’s that. Dean proved he’s a better writer and artist and gets the gummies with a story so bad we didn’t even see it. Let’s cap this off with him bragging to Heart about how male writers are superior and her admitting that she’s a loser. Maybe have her get hit by a car or two too.
