Forgetting the step part, their kids are married. They are unrelated. They will (hopefully) share grandchildren, but that’s all. Accounting for the step relationship, they are even less related.
Someone mentioned that they didn’t think it was not fair that some of the best parking spot were reserved for recharging cars. I blinked and asked her, “what parking lots are those?”
I guess if the two sets of parents of a husband and wife become close friends, they might feel like they should be related by the marriage. But I don’t think that happens in many families, does it? I’ve always heard the in-laws fight each other over who gets the kids and grandkids over for holidays, and tend not to like each other very much, often barely even knowing each other or possibly not having seen each other since the wedding.
Still waiting on someone to remark on how weird it is that Marcy refers to Clarence and his brothers as her brothers. Despite the fact that she met them all as adults, Clarence is the only one she knows that well and I don’t she’s met half of them in person, until her mom’s wedding.
