Dang if this particular strip isn’t a mirror image of conversations between the wife and myself.

I had a tandem bike that needed some work, but it out on the curb. Came back out with the trash cans, the bike was gone.

They also say that, as soon as you throw something out, you’ll find that you need it.

George Carlin said of such piles of junk: If it’s yours, it’s a pile of “stuff.” If it is somebody else’s, it’s a pile of “$hit.”

Apropos, because we’re getting ready for the semiannual city clean-up so my son and I actually took a LOT of stuff out to the curb. we still have a large storage unit with my Mom’s things, but unfortunately my husband’s mobility is limited so we haven’t been able to tackle that very well yet.

We had a lot of sentimental stuff ( read as stuff we don’t need but have an emotional attachment ) in a shed that got full of water from Hurricane Beryl. The town had a community trash day a few months later and all the stuff got tossed. Sadly, that included family photos and certificates of things achieved. But life goes on and the memories are still here without the actual things kept in bins and boxes.
