It’s insanely funny that Fox’s go to legal defense is basically repeatedly stating that only an idiot would take Fox News seriously. Sadly, it would seem, there are a lot of idiots out there.
Fiction writers have existed for as long as we’ve had writing. The subset that pretends to be telling true stories has also existed, but they’ve often had negative effects on their societies’ stability.
Fox News’ official position is that everybody should get vaccinated. What’s-his-name even said it on the air (Tucker Carlson?). As a result, the pro-Trump people are abandoning Fox News for being left wing.
As long as you are fully vaccinated, you may get sick. I had a break through case, lasted 4 pretty bad days, 10 total not feeling great, then weak for about 10 more. But, I am 77. Guess what it would have done to me without the vaccine. According to my doctor, I was just as capable of spreading covid as I would have been without the vaccine. I had it, totally, the vaccine just prevented it from destroying me, not anyone I might come in contact with. Masks for the vaccinated aren’t to protect yourself, it’s to prevent the disease from spreading to the unvaccinated who then become mobile petri dishes to incubate the next versions of the virus—- until we get the omega version.
Well some pundits at Fox (like Sean Hannity) are urging their MAGA viewers to get vaxxed ASAP so that they’ll still be around to vote in 2022 and/or 2024. Of course, Tucker Carlson, Laura Ingraham, etc. continue to diss the vaccines to these same viewers. So, we’ll see who listens to who. There are those in the MAGA crowd who have been vaxxed in secret so they won’t arouse the hostility of their fellow MAGATs. Plus in the low vaxxed red states that have been hit hardest by Delta, vaccinations are well above the national average (and first jab vaccinations are up an average of 35%). So, take heart, not everyone in Trump country is willing to “take one for the team”.
