I have a feeling that Toni is going to rip into TJ about giving Brad bad ideas ie: april fools joke.

TJ reminds me of Judge Reinhold in “Fast Times at Ridgemont High”… and we all know how that scene turned out.

Yes, it could be a beginning of a story with a “explosive” conclusion on Friday.

Toni, whom Ms. Awful wrongfully banned from the restaurant, and TJ, who drives Ms. Awful crazy and at the same time has a grip on her management, both in the same spot, not to mention the brat from hell… What could possibly go wrong?

Ideal scenario: Brad and Toni marry, they adopt Shannon, and T.J. becomes the live-in nanny. He’s great with Shannon.

Ann and Toni, some way and some how, are going to team up to make TJ’s life total hell.

I thought that all we knew about Shannon’s mommy is that she was married briefly to Toni’s brother and left without giving any reason. Does that disqualify Ann as being Shannon’s mommy? I suppose that Toni would recognize her sister-in-law, though. So, No, Ann should be disqualified as a candidate for “Mommy of the Year”.

Shannon and TJ do very well together. And Toni is very connected to Shannon as well. Brad is not into Shannon. Hmm-m-m-m-m-m…

Perfect names for those two….

Methinks TJ is about to get his walking papers from the house; Toni may not want to get married, but she might want to move in With Brad :)

How come TJ’s shirt in the 2nd panel has one red sleeve and the other is yellow? Then in the 3rd panel, he’s wearing a shirt with 2 yellow sleeves.

I most certainly hope that she does NOT ‘rip into His Weenieness’…he GOT Brad off the dime, and her to seriously consider what’s RIGHT with her life.

She IS a certain kind of fool, but TJ…closer to normal than all of the other characters combined…has improved ALL of their lives.

He’s a real FORCE.

It amazes me that so many people view a cartoon like it was real life……….

Regarding the red sleeve in panel #2. Greg draws the Luann strip in photoshop on a Cintiq tablet. Obviously when he filled in the areas with color using the paint bucket tool there was a leak and the red of the vest spilled over into the sleeve.

Or else he just wasn’t paying attention to what he was doing…

Vilyehm is right. The only one who can go the rounds and clean the clock is Shannon. In a fast food resutrant? Are you kidding? This is better than cleaning restrooms by a longshot!

Or to be more specific: MY fault. Unfortunately there are no prizes for “gotchas” :-)@2goldfish: I use a more conventional digital tablet than Greg does (his tablet is also his display as you know) and I can assure you the wrong fill was an errant touch of the pen to the wrongly colored sleeve.The coloring pipeline is undergoing a big change in personnel, and sadly the person who checks our submissions for errors is no longer working in that capacity. She had decades of experience and a trained eye for spotting the most subtle inconsistencies – she definitely would have caught that. But it’s no excuse for me making such an obvious mistake.

It’s amazing how many people come in here to dis the author and tell him how to do his job. I’d be amazed if he ever reads these comments— I know I regret it, whenever I do.

Go write your own strip and get it published. Then you may have the standing to discuss, peer-to-peer, whether this plot or that characterization is optimal or not. But to come in here and constantly criticize the story just makes you look like small, self-involved, entitled people.

I think we are going to learn something about Toni this week!

You may be right, Dave53, but I like to think the old pro, Greg is just toying with us, to keep us on our toes: Knute’s t-shirts, Miss Phelps’ desk sign.

I like how TJ seems to enjoy dressing up in his Weenie King regalia. It’s not like Ann could have ordered him to do it against his will, seeing as she’s afraid TJ would quit, and she would lose her best salesman.

It’s nice that we’re getting more interaction between TJ and Shannon. One of my favorite Luann strips was the one published years ago, in which TJ babysat Shannon.

Like another reader said, it would be priceless if Ann got to meet Shannon. You know what would be really cool? What if Ann Eifel was the “wild girl” Toni’s brother met and had a child with? What if Ann was secretly Shannon’s mother?

See, there are these things called “time zones”, because not everybody in the world lives where you do!

So THIS is where all the former viewers of “All My Children” went after it was cancelled. I used to watch AMC as a guilty pleasure for years, starting when I was a kid (before Erica got married for the first time), and it looks like the Pittsville backstory is as convoluted as Pine Valley’s was.

I’ve read Luann every once in a while in newspapers over the years, but it’s become a daily thing here on gocomics. I’ve become more interested mostly because of all the comments under the strip…you guys are really into it, and it’s kind of infectious.

Still, for me, nothing beats “Endtown.” THAT’s my newest and biggest guilty pleasure now.

Reinhold’s character works at fried fish fast food joint, and management insists on his wearing this dorky captain’s hat. On the way to making a delivery, he’s stopped at a light and sees a pretty girl in the car next to him. Mr. Smooth makes eye contact and tries to flirt with her, and she just bursts out laughing and drives off. He looks in the mirror and sees he’s still wearing the idiotic hat! Realizing how lame he looks, he rips it off and throws it out the window, followed by the delivery..

Hmm Ann Eiffel is still manager? I know there was some kind of agreement between Toni and Ann about Toni’s right to be in Weenie World. Now she has her insufferable—but cute—niece with her. And TJ? Man the possibilities, they are mind-boggling Greg. Will we still got the Thilla in Manila? Probably not, sorry -:)

With the Morality of today I doubt that you would see a mass exodus from the strip by papers. Whats the difference between this strip and TV of Today….well the strip is rated G and TV is rated TV-14

With my gocomics-comments addiction, I can’t stop thinking about how it would be to have a confrontation among Shannon, Danae (Non Sequitur) and Alice (Cul de Sac).

Of course, TJ is GAMEFULLY employed. His employment for him is a game since he doesn’t need the money and enjoys flustering Ann by being so good at what he does and with others.

It is plausible that TJ is of Italian descent and Argentine nationality. Also, Toni most likely wants to first take on TJ for suggesting the Valentine/April Fool scheme, and then pursue her grudge against Ann for her treatment of Brad. So, Toni is coming into WW to do more than buy a hot dog.

Hmmmm. Could be an interesting plot twist here….

Toni has good reasons for disliking both TJ and Ann Eiffel— both are “Brad-related.” As they say in the business world; she is multi-tasking!

I doubt that Toni would have brought Shannon with her if her plan was to have it out with T.J. or Ann. She may be a brat, but she’s still a kid. Shannon probably asked Toni to take her there because she likes hot dogs. And she likes T.J. because he can handle her. Kids like her like and respect people like that. Don’t ask me how I know.

Toni thinks TJ has been trying to manipulate Brad. Toni is protective of Brad. Toni is at W.W. to “ream out” TJ.

Until I see Ann, I will assume she is no longer employed at W.W.

Just hang on, sports fans – with those three plus Ann all in the same building, there are all kinds of possible scenarios.

Y’know, with Toni and Shannon there, I’M not sure who I feel sorrier for: TJ or Ann!

No, Toni does not feel hostility towards TJ, but at the same time, she may not always approve of his actions regarding his involvement with Brad’s state of affairs… Maybe it should be said that Toni does not have anything personal against TJ; she simply wants to straighten him out. Oh well, let’s all get some sleep before we analyze tomorrow’s developments!
