Two navels walk into a bar…. The one is always criticizing the other… finally, the first turns, and says: “Why do you always have to pick at me?”….

She doesn’t realize there are benefits and advantages to a straight guy like Gunth

Well, at least she told him what isn’t going so well with them

Is she going to cheerfully accept their differences and break up with him, or happily accept their differences and try to make it work?

Maybe she’ll make him do all the work in the relationship for a week and see how it goes? That could be an interesting ark.

Interesting to contrast how proactive Gunther was making things just so for Quill with how passive and disinterested he is with Rosa. NTTAWWT.

Well, we will see where this goes. Is it …“Well, my goodness, we have a problem. Guess this means I’m gone.” I will now proceed to the next relationship, where there ARE no problems." Ummhumm…" LOL.

tomorrow is either the goodbye, or he actually for first time takes initiative, kisses her and says “I can’t lose you, you are the Jewell my heart wants”, I say 4/5 possibility that it is goodbye

Gunther may be many things, but I don’t think “straight” is one of them.

Nothing, really!…. the 2nd one just realized that the 1st one was right, takes stock into what he said, and…. oh, wait!!! I forgot! He does say: “Fine, I’ll stop! Quit your bellyachin’!”… (but, inside, he knew how wrong he was…)

Well, Rosa’s smiling…and her eyebrow is raised (as in merriment or being tickled at a thought)… so, either she’s coming to the realization of the Huey Lewis and the News song “Stuck With You” (joyful and celebratory), or she has a really good way of delivering bad news…..

Better stick with the one you’ve got. and work it out. Together. No relationship is without problems. You have two human beings involved. There will be flaws. But if you love them and they love you , most things can be worked out. TALK IT OUT. AMAZING WHAT COMMUNICATIONS WILL DO. AND HAVE FUN; DON’T FORGET TO LAUGH.

This is why I love this strip, Greg has us guessing until the last moment on how things will go here. He makes sure we will “tune in tomorrow night”, to see who is right. My guess is “one more chance”, simply by the fact that Rosa doesn’t look defeated. Of course, that doesn’t mean Gunther will want that chance, he might decide he wants to be friends… can’t wait to see how this is resolved!

I know this is off the subject , but if anyone wants to know Orange " Gatoraid" makes amazing oatmeal cookies. I add apples , orange peel, and orange pulp and cranberries to the recipe on the Quaker Oatmeal container. Was a little dry, so I added about a cup of Orange Gatoraid (all I had) people wanted more more more and the recipe. Amazing. Who would think. Gatoraid. You never know.

Don’t think Gunther is gay, just a shy mama’s boy, Rosa doesn’t need a green card. If its met too be they will work out differences. Relax folks, this a great comic strip.

Has Gunther declared (no, not that) want he wants to Major in in college? Home economics, perhaps?

In response to seyleigh, why does Rosa have to change her personality? Gunther appears to me al least to pretty much be a momma’s boy.

As we used to say in The Bronx, this don’t make no sense. The only reason other guys aren’t after an attractive girl like her is, there are only about two guys in the whole high school: Knute and Gunther. Have we seen any others? This must be the smallest graduating class in American High School History: 7 people. And where was Miss Hot Pants? She couldn’t get a date for the dance?

Tomorrow Gunther invites Rosa in for milk and cookies, BTW mom is out of town.

Gunth has been brought up by a single mother with no man in sight (and only an excuse as to why that is so). Maybe he’s been taught that sex is a bad thing.

Gunther and Rosa are just like Jon and Liz from Garfield, the ultimate odd couple with hot chick and geeky guy!

He will prove to be a good, stable, loving husband in the future. Right now he is just at an awkward stage. Right now having a hottie like Rosa look his way is a little intimidating. I was awkward around the pretty girls in high school, I just never felt up to the task. I met my late wife who was beautiful while high school, but we didn’t work out. Long story short, I went in the Navy and grew up. We re-connected by letter while I was off Vietnam. We wrote many letters and wound up together for life. There is hope for ol Gunther.

Rosa and Gunther are both gentle people. This is the first first overt fire either of them have shown, although it has been clear that Rosa has had the concern she shows today, for some time. They first got together when she asked him to design a dress for her, after seeing the (rather wild) one he did for Luann, and she has mostly been the one to take the initiative on everything. He has not seemed to mind that—but she does not want to be a dominant, controlling partner—a good thing. Gunther is maybe too polite and too timid, but the fact that has so much as shown the nerve to date someone as attractive as Rosa offers some hope for him and their relationship. And sometimes he really comes through, like the time they were dancing and both admitted to having a wet hands problem, and he said—and showed—he had a way to fix that. He is worth watching.

The G-man has a sense of humor, and Rosa likes it! See her smile!

I’m very close to someone (A) who was virtually ignored for months by a man (B) who finally got a new job and moved across the U. S. Then B proposed to A by mail. But by then, A had met another man, whom she soon married. B was shocked.

As I was explaining to Seyleigh, it’s…agenda, from him, that’s all… just because of how she looks… he’s usually posting like that….sad, and all…

Actually, no they don’t.

Yes. You should be yelled at.

Gunther is gay.

One of the great lies of modern society is that children learn social skills from other children. It’s not true, if it were true you could expect children to learn music by having them hang around tone deaf people. Children learn social skills from watching their parents interact with both themselves and more importantly with other adults. Gunther missed out on having the most important teacher he could have on interacting with women, namely his father.

Gunther is a good example of the extreme “safe” date. However its not fair to expect Rosa to commit to someone who isn’t giving her any physical or romantic attention. Yes he is honest, trustworthy, talented, kind and generous. But he has to be able to put out too….there must be a balance here. Its up to him to get over his fears and take a move.

Again, I have to say that if the strip really doesn’t want to depict Gunther as gay, it had better stop drawing him as reacting the way he did on July 24 and October 11. That goes way beyond mere admiration to, at least, complete infatuation.

He’s becoming less interesting to her. She’s bound to discover soon what a dullard Gunther is and will move on. If Reality has any say, that is.

Dullard? PROBABLY, if they wind up married, Rosa won’thave to worry about her husband smoking or drinking, or being unfaithful. Probably won’t have to worry aboutabuse, either, and very likely Gunther will be a great Dad.All in all, a pretty good package, compared to some….(Yes, I know it’s a comic)

The “Evans’ blog says Gunther isn’t gay, so he’s not” advocates could become movie reviewers by not bothering to watch the movies either, but simply reprinting the directors’ press releases as objective truth.

The male usually initiates the acts of kissing, asking for dates, etc. Rosa has to assume the male role in this relationship with Gunther. Gunther is too timid and shy about these things, like most girls are. For the girls, it is mostly about not wanting to send the slutty vibes or image, while with Gunther, it is more about his timid personality. So if Rosa wants to continue dating Gunther, she has to assume the male role and initiate.

…what’s actually going on is that the male role and female roles are reversed here. Rosa’s taking the masculine role, Gunther’s taking the feminine role. Rosa wants her female role back, and all her attempts to get Gunther to man up are based on this idea.

Not being passive-aggressive; just making an observation. I know that there are many Americans who aren’t d-bags, but there are those who DO hold preconceived notions of Latinos as illegal aliens because of what they see or hear in the media, which mostly present VERY racist, stereotypical depictions of us. You can’t blame me for making an accurate observation.

This is the most encouraging strip in a while..They may break up eventually or never.Both consider the future together worth working on.They understand they weren’t cut from cookie cutters but are individuals..Those who want EXCITING PASSIONATE resolution in two hours might consider some silly formulaic action/adventure movie..I praise the artistry found here and those who can see it.

Someone once said (among the many millions who already have said the same thing): Opposites attract…but the question is, do they continue attracting? Rosa seems to be getting more and more frustrated…I am waiting for tomorrow’s comic to see where this goes, if anywhere… ;)

Rosa, Rule #1: Never say it is okay when it isn’t okay. Rule #2: Never take a guy home past his curfew.
