If Luann is like this when helping pick out someone else’s wedding dress, I wonder what she’ll be like when it is time to pick out her own…

While it’s nice that Toni invited Luann and Nancy to go shopping for the wedding dress, Luann’s reaction seems a bit overenthusiastic for the situation.

It started doing that about three and a half years ago when they “improved” the site experience.

I’m still kind of baffled by Luann’s reaction. Seriously, like I said earlier, I’d get this kind of excitement if she won a big lottery or some other life-changing thing. But she’s not the one getting married, so…?

At this point, I would rather have Ms. Phelps or Delta in this strip. At least they were smart, sensible women who had a lot more going on in their lives than just the opposite sex. But Greg Evans has no room in this strip for smart, sensible women (aside from Toni, that is), just crazy, hysterical, go-nowhere nuts like Luann. And yes, I know Phelps and Delta were made to be these insufferable (and in Phelps’s case, caricatured) women that most people wouldn’t want to touch with a 50-foot pole, but that was Greg’s doing.

SUKIE: Thanks for the tip about vintage aircraft nose art. One B-24, called the Strawberry Bitch" jumped right out at me. I could almost swear I saw it in person at the old Air Force Museum on Wright-Patterson AFB in Ohio.

Seems to me to be time for Nancy to have a serious mother-daughter talk with Luann about How To Become a Gr’up….

Um, Luann’s response doesn’t seem to be normal. She’s hysterical.

Brad and Toni have been together for how long? I would have thought the parents would have had her over for dinner, family get togethers, holidays, etc by now.

She’s in overdrive. Lookout. Man, what’ll happen when she has to pick out hers one day? Yikes!!!

Nancy says, “It’ll be nice to really get to know her” Wedding is in December. Hope Nancy likes Toni. G & K have a tendency to pair couples who remain strangers (Luann & Quill). Maybe Frank & Nancy are still strangers to each other? Knute & Crystal are “strange”, but not controversial, so we seldom see them, anymore.

All I can think is: WTH? Is Luann stuck in perpetual jr high mode? She isn’t 12 anymore.

I can see it now – December 11th – then some major disaster happens in the area – and ALL firefighters are called into emergency duty – they both go and become heroes. Of course, they missed the big wedding time – so they get married in there smoke smudged firefighter gear by the Fire Department Chaplin or Fire Captain at the fire house.

Today is Saturday, so it may be time to go to another arc have to wait for the results of the contest so it may be a while before we see the dress. Nancy was the one who wanted the simple wedding (Frank was like Brad), so I hope this dress shopping will be a wonderful time for everyone and not blown out of proportion.

Some Toni/Nancy interaction is needed. Nancy was a witch to Toni for a long time.

This might be a good spot to take a break in the wedding action, and pick up on another story line. (As long as its not sticky fingers Les). Of course, I’d like to see Knute & Crystal, but that won’t happen. Will Rosa come down from the mountain? I doubt it, although she was one of the nicest characters to grace this strip. Bernice needs a makeover to get a little (or a lot) more attractive. Mr. Gray never really developed much.

@The Airman: This might be a good spot to take a break in the wedding action, and pick up on another story line.i like Toni and Brad well enough, but I do hope we move to other story lines before 2017….. Poor Gunther and Bernice are like hanging chads on a Florida ballot (worst analogy, ever..). i would like to see Gunther give her a gentle sweet kiss and watch her eyes pop open. (He doesn’t think she needs a make-over!) But that might be implausible for his character.

Is Greg’s daughter, Karen, married? I can’t find any online answer to that question. I’ve been wondering if all this never ending detail about the Toni/Brad matrimonials is for Karen to have the dream wedding she’s not had yet.
