Bernice: According to this, we're all too clean. Luann: Too clean? Bernice: When we super sanitize our environments to eliminate bacteria, we may actually endanger our health by reducing our resistance to germs" Bernice: Whew. Looks like i'm completely safe here. Luann: Send me that article, Bern. I wanna show it to my parents.

I love the “Save Me” Earth poster; sounds like an oxymoron since it’s in Luann’s bedroom.

Luann’s room is messy. The go-to Sunday gag.

What would complete this comic strip would be a container of hand sanitizer in obvious sight.

If things don’t work out with Sara, Jeremy should hook up with Luann.

@FLASH GORDON: Meanwhile, what story line will they pick up on Monday?
…
Gunther will realize that he is missing about four hours. Tiffany will point out a series of small scratches or incisions on his body, mainly his back. Tiffany tells him that she thinks that he was abducted by aliens, then returned. She snickers because she slipped something in his drink, and while he was out, she had her way with him. Gunther writhes in pain as she cleans the scratches on his back with hydrogen peroxide and puts an antibacterial ointment on the scratches.

Oh, wow! The Kids’ Activities page! Hmm…instructions say to “find the missing ‘whozawatzit’ on Luann’s floor in twelve seconds or less”. Okay..I’ll start, now, and- Aw, nuts, time’s up, already! I wished I knew where the hint was…

Is that Charlie Brown’s picture taped to the chest of drawers?

I agree totally, when we were kids we played in the dirt and didn’t get near as sick as often as kids get sick today. They seem to be perpetually ill.

I have a relative who sanitizes everything in her house. Her family is always sick. Our house is a pig sty and we never get sick. Coincidence?

But IS this REALLY a “Dirty Room,” or Is it “ART?”
Lu, take a picture and show it to that “Art Teacher” of Yours, Professor ZeBat.

There’s a difference between “dirty” and “messy”. All I asked was that our kids vacuum their rugs once a week. If they couldn’t do it, I’d come in and get enough stuff off the floor to run the vac myself. They knew that anything I “picked up” was gone, so they made sure to do it themselves.

so……………. Bern likes chips and Luann like chipz or is that the new package that changes letters every 10 seconds?

I’m surprised that, with everything that’s on the floor, including hangars (unless they’re plastic), Bernice and Luann aren’t wearing shoes.
Plus, I hope that lamp on the dresser isn’t turned on, as the article of clothing on the lampshade would constitute a fire hazard.

Ah, we’re back to one of the old staples. Messiness is to Luann’s room as futility is to Charlie Brown’s football-kicking or kite-flying.
And I wish there were sanitizing spray that would unclutter things and magically put them in their proper places, but I’m afraid that Bern and Luann have germ-free confused with clutter-free.

The Sunday arcs are transitional and an argument could be made that they establish a foundation for Luann in terms of her family, and her relationship with Bernice in particular. Bernice is snarky by nature, always saying humorously sarcastic things to her friend. She does it generally as well In this case I think the snark is that the article establishes she, Bernice, is safe in Luann’s messy room. Luann ignores the sarcasm, and in fact asks Bernice to send to her so she can show it to her parents. Bff’s forever. I can relate, I tease my best friend all the time. Been friends since the 3rd grade back in 1953.

This is exactly WHY the monsters in Monsters, Inc. believe that humans are ‘toxic’. Years ago, they went into Luann’s room one night – then they made a PSA in their world to serve as a warning! :)

In all fairness, Luann is doing her part to save the world – since all the garbage goes there!

Once again we’re reminded that Luann is nowhere near adulthood, still living with her parents like she’s perpetually 12 years old. Evans and Evans, please stop infantilizing your characters. It’s time for Luann to move out.

Creative people do seem to be less tidy. I don’t have any data about this, just an impression. Maybe because, creativity needs time for play, which is messy.

Mom advised to mix equal parts rubbing alcohol, hydrogen peroxide & 1/10th part USP glycerin (to re-moisturize the skin) as a hand sanitizer that no bacteria/virus can survive.

Actually that argument is only true for the young when their immune system is developing. By the time you reach your teens it is too late.
