Oh Jack, Jack, Jack. You want to get RID of Tiffany? Order something. And when she comes back, order something else. THAT should keep her occupied for a couple of hours.
Well Folks, You have to admit. Tiffany Ferrall is nothing short of predictable. I feel sorry for her, though. Lost her dad. Alienated Gunther. And now she’s on the verge of ticking off Jack, with her untimely distractions. In the end, the only guy left that will even put up with her may be that (GAG) “Dishwasher-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named.” And I’m getting the feeling that if Tiff screws this up, she may find herself washing dishes after all. If not FIRED.
As for Luann? Well to Me at least, she has a sort of WTF? look on her face in panel one. I mean, it’s early yet. But she doesn’t like she’s having a good time at all. And by the hand gesture, it appears that Doug is doing all the talking. Probably about himself. So what are the odds that when Jack finally gets RID of Tiffany, Doug and Luann will have vanished and Jack goes into full panic mode and blames Tiffany?
Oh. And Mrs Alderson over at Arcamax, predicted that (Not unlike Tom Ferrall) We may never even “See” Doug. So far, it looks like she’s Right…….., ;)
I’m going along with the prediction from yesterday. Luann is having a great time, but Jack thinks he missed seeing a signal, rushes to the rescue, and messes up the date.
Have we seen any waitstaff sit the way Tiffany is in panel 3?? I know I never have. Happens only in Luanniverse. And Tiffany? Why WOULD you think any guy would appreciate you sitting in front of them with your back toward them, blocking everything in his sight? Or was that your intention? So he wouldn’t see Luann? Are you thinking he was spying on Luann because she is on a date? So you took it up to yourself to “comfort” Jack by acting the way you are?
Dr. Watson, what is it we are observing: someone wearing a black shirt with his elbow resting on the table, or is his arm extended from a black robe with a very wide sleeve? She could also be sitting with a Zorro impersonator. Why not, Bets came in a Star Trek uniform?
Tiffany, why don’t you just give Jack a lap dance since you put your rump where it shouldn’t be …. this Fuse/Kafe Kablooie place is a regular free for all …
What we have here is the true definition of an eclipse: one heavenly body obscuring another heavenly body. Just “work it, girl”, but don’t break the table.
Tiff’s interest in Jack continues frpm the Kidz Place episode and was predictable to anyone with eyes to see (not me, BTW). *Luann1212*’s hilarity prediction is evident over at Table #2.
Luann’s expression in panel 1 is definitely one of surprise; mouth open and slack, eyes wide open, eyelashes pointed upward… seems to be a Cartoonist 101 expression for moderate surprise. But why? The only clue is Dougie’s hand gesture. Probably a gesture meant to imply Mr. Mystery is monopolizing the conversation or coming on a little too strongly or some such.
The obvious set up is for Luann to flash one of their many predetermined signals to Jack which he misses due to Tiff’s (impressive) presence. Then what happens?
1) Luann extracts herself from the date and a repeat of the Kisz Place squabble occurs. Luann and Tiffany with Jack as the innocent bystander? Referee?
2) A somewhat less benign occurrence takes place with Jack also being distracted. Which, again, causes Jack much distress and requiring a “rescue” of the terminally helpless Luann.
Probably the latter will occur (for dramatic effect) which may still devolve into situation 1. I don’t think anything will be implied, as in the wild party episode. It appears that Greg may want to continue milking the dating scenes for a bit. So far, the dating app intro with Gunther and Luann, the date with Gunther and Bets and this “date” have been winners for him, so far.
I think Luann’s look in panel one is too neutral to really have a good idea of what she is reacting to, except that she does not seem to be in any level of distress, per the signals she wanted Jack to respond too. As for Tiffany she is being flirtatious Tiffany, and it’s a toss-up to me whether that is because she is reacting to the maleness of Jack, or trying to get him not to be interested in Luann, when she is there, or trying to be outstanding in only a Tiffany way to a customer, or some combination of all of those possibilities. Jack is being the gentleman, and is more concerned with, and this is important, with trying to help Luann, if needed, and rather irritated with Tiffany. Doug, well who knows. So as I keep saying hilarity ensues. It’s unpredictable, but it is a predicament, that is for sure.
Wow, these are some Three’s Company style hijinks going on here. Of course, they weren’t that original back then either, and that show was on literally forty years ago…
I’ve become very rude at a woman for about the same thing. I was talking to someone and she popped in between with such a demand for attention. Hell, it was her friends and I was getting acquainted with a couple. Not even reason for jealous since I was talking most with the guy and not with his girlfriend.
folks are trying to figure out Luann’s expression. All i see (for now) are her wide eyes which could be interpreted in a variety of ways… she’s speechless? or maybe Doug is just doing all the talking? He seems to have her attention. The fact that we don’t see HIS face could be interpreted or misinterpreted. 1. he’s on his way out and we will not see him 2. G&K are just torturing us and making us wait till tomorrow or (gah…) next week. But now we have two plot lines going simultaneously, Tiffany interfering with Jack’s mission and Luann & Doug. Other observations: 1. he’s wearing black, 2. Tiffany doesn’t seem interested (in them).
“…any YOU WAY want….”? Really Tiff, didn’t you ever go to english? Or is this a new way to subconsciously try to enter his world in a very stereotypical manor? Because he appears to be a jock he doesn’t have the same intellect as you?

What if Tiffany’s working with Doug, who asked her to make sure that any guy who looked like he was there to keep an eye on Luann couldn’t do it?
I mean, she’s not just being obnoxious, it looks like she is very deliberately blocking Jack’s view of Luann.
