I feel the same after repeated calls from specific sellers. Every call, whether I answer or not, helps guarantee I will never purchase from that company. Of course, since most are cold calls, my refusal doesn’t affect them at all. They get paid for that, whether I buy or not.

We have an answering machine that none of them leave messages for anytime.

My voicemail message: Hello, hello, hello
. Press 1 if you dialed the correct number, press 2 if you dialed the wrong number but want to talk to me anyway, press 3 if you don’t want to talk to me, press 4 if you want to talk to anyone, press 5 to leave a voicemail, press 6 to repeat a voicemail you’ve already left, press 7 if you unreasonably hope I will return your call, press 8 pound star 9 if you want to hear this menu again.

I always wonder why after punching in your 76-digit account number, PIN, dog’s maiden name and nuclear launch codes, the first thing the agent asks your descendants (you have long since passed on and the transaction is happening between your future generation and the future generation of customer support) is “What is your account number?”

Microsoft and a few others have an option to call you back when an agent is available. With MS, I never had to wait more than two minutes. With others it took up to 15 minutes. That’s how business should be done in civilized countries.

I’ve worked in IT for serval decades. I understand Hindi. I usually do not have a problem with technical support. For example, I know that “Kligh star and sealit
” means “Click Start and Select
”

Generally speaking, the tech support people have their act down technically. They’re intelligent people. But I don’t think it is too much to ask to either pick people who can speak the language of the country they are supporting fluently or give them some voice lessons.

Sometimes even I feel like “maco ocho por Espanol” and I don’t speak Spanish.

I have actually requested an English speaking rep because I could understand one word. So who do they get? A rep in ENGLAND! I always ask where they are

One day after waiting on hold for a while, the person who finally answered was almost understandable, but I had a difficult time hearing him cuz there was a rooster crowing in the background!

THAT’s, the intent. Mad enough to hang up.. or so frustrated you vent on the music/wait time.. and not the issue.
