I do most of the cooking so I want stuff where I can find it. We rarely have an issue. the few misplaced items do not cause much fuss. Then I just ask like direwolf says.
My favorite question for my wife, “What did you do with my …”
She knows that what that really means is “Can you help me find my …”
We live on a small lake (more like a pond on steroids) so when we can’t find something we ask instead, “When did I throw it in the lake?” One of these days we are going to have to dredge that lake.

Oddly enough, Hubby can always find what he wants when he’s cooking but can’t remember where it goes when he empties the dishwasher.
