    My tires stopped doing that when I started having them filled with nitrogen instead of regular air. It costs a few bucks but is worth it not to have to top up on really cold days.

    That’s why I have my mini air compressor. When one low pressure light comes on, I check the pressure on every tire in my fleet. (3 cars = 12 tires – I don’t do spares – maybe I should – but one of them is UNDER the truck and difficult to check.

    One thing I learned last year is if you fill the tires to recommended pressure first thing in the morning, by afternoon the tire pressure reads about 3 – 5 pounds over what is recommended. Better to fill in the afternoon and let the tires run a few pounds low than in the afternoon and the pressure running high. Tires are equipped to handle the extra pressure, but why risk it?

    Last week my car technician told me I needed new struts for the car and it won’t be fixed until around 2 pm, so I would not have to wait for it he handed me the keys to his car and said: Ignore the check engine light. LOL I have a number of friends and my brother (retired now) who makes a living fixing cars and it’s their car that usually gets the least attention of their talents.

    A few times I’ve had a single tire go almost flat while the others changed by 5 psi or so. That happens when the wheel and tire contract at uneven rates and you momentarily lose the seal between them.
