When I was much younger I got the idea to make sausage McMuffins for breakfast. I’d make the patties from sausage mince and use raisin muffins. Two of those a morning was really unhealthy.
Two or three pieces of ham lightly fried, two slices of dill pickle, a few slices of onion, a warm hot dog bun and Sweet Baby Ray’s barbecue sauce=>McRib.
Actually I think fried bologna (or hotdogs!) tastes good with eggs (shrugging) but this might be the result of growing up with a mother who wasn’t the best cook and admittedly made some odd things that I’ve not seen replicated anywhere else in all the years (over 20) since leaving her house
I have a small 3" non stick pan. Works easier than the ring. Found these large frozen precooked sausage patties at one market. Fry the egg, nuke the pattie and cheese and toast the muffin, yum.
I tried the rings, but couldn’t get them to work. They’d always leak regardless of what I tried. So I bought some 2.5" little ceramic fry pans, and they work a treat.
Fried bologna is actually pretty similar in taste to Canadian bacon (don’t tell them I said that). And an Egg McMuffin is simply their take on the famous breakfast dish: Egg’s Benedict. Surprised they didn’t call it the McBenedict – but maybe the name has a negative connotation from a historical perspective. (We now return you to humorous comments)
Last time I checked McD was charging about $3 for a Egg McMuffin. I can make my own, with a toasted whole wheat English muffin, for under $1. Use a small ramekin to nuke an egg (with a Tbsp. of hot salsa mixed in) for a couple of minutes to set, slap on a thin slice of ham (I buy a whole ham and slice it myself, bagging it up and freezing to use as needed; much cheaper than prepackaged or deli) and a slice of cheese. Takes all of 5 minutes.

Something tells my brain fried bologna tastes like hot dogs but it has also blocked out the memory of whatever experience has gifted me that knowledge

Egg McMuffin. Bennedict Arnolds favorite brunch without the sloppy Hollandaise Sauce.

Q: How do you stop Canadian bacon from curling in the frying pan?
A: Take away their tiny little brooms.

Fooey on that! Let the egg hang out. It’s one less thing to wash afterwards!

I took a bite of a McMuffin years ago and had to spit it out. I am not a picky eater.

No Canadian Bacon? Jokes aren’t the only things being held up by supply chain issues.
