Harsh, cruel and uninhabitable. Sounds like my ex-girlfriend, whenever she wasn’t the personification of love. 50/50.
Venus, best loved from a distance………
Wow. LOVE the treatment of the water in panel two. Beautiful.
I figure they named it “Venus” because it’s the brightest object in our night sky besides the moon.
Ah yes Love. The most horrible wonderful thing that can happen to you!
anyone who has been following this strip for a a significant time will understand the [depressing] subtext.
Ouch, didn’t the song go love hurts…

I thought the Moon was a harsh mistress.
Oh, Venus! This goddess is really what R.A. Heinlein called “a harsh mistress”! Flirty, too, ehh, Captain Odom?
The flaming hair should be a clue.
I didn’t notice until the second day I looked at this (hey! it’s a marvelous piece of art! we should look at it at least twice!) that when Venus plunges through the flower, in the last panel it’s become a skirt for her.
I’ve drawn some nsfw sketches of her from these poses… <3
Never having experienced Love, he doesn’t know that, Sometimes, Love Hurts.
Is the water in that pond a lot Warmer after Venus dips her Flaming Hair in it?
