“…later ones had degaussing coils built in.”But if you moved it (to an even slightly different magnetic environment) you still had to go through the deGaussing ritual again. The coil was only active at turn-on, then a PTC thermistor tapered off the current. And Superfrog, stupidity is very close to a vacuum.

Given the feasibility of his attempt, one has to wonder about the stupidity of Bert.

It’s the people ON television that are stupid, primarily mainstream news and politicians (both parties). Just watch classic films on DVD or Blu Ray and the TV is fine.

there are so many channels with stupid shows airing. like i didn’t know i was pregnant, mtv, vh1, tlc, and e!‘s lineup. but, some channels have really good shows. like amc’s madmen, breaking bad, walking dead, hbo’s newsroom, boardwalk empire, fx’s american horror story, showtime’s shameless, dexter, ray donovan. plus, netflix has a good lineup.

And just where is he going dispose of the vacuum bag? Only certain facilities take toxic waste..I recall an old Outer Limits episode related to this, “It Crawled Out of the Woodwork.” A remake could be titled, “It Crawled Out of the Network.”

Bert’s mistake is that television sucks alot more than his vacuum cleaner! It’s hopeless Bert, give it up!

You have to buy 200 channels because they won’t sell you 20. If you could order channels “a la carte,” about 90% of the channels would go away.

I was in Grenada, arrived the week after the invasion and the Army command had commandeered our hotel. We moved to a hotel on Grand Anse Beach across the road from the medical school. If anyone had tried to “rescue” me from there I would have been very upset. The people were very happy to see us though, they thought we were the start of a flood of tourists from the States.

I’ve been thinking about cutting the cable and going back to broadcast… Back when the History, Discovery and TLC channels used to air some factual material it was worth paying a little to get it but they’ve increased the prices and decreased the watchable material too many times…

Were you, by chance, watching Superman, staring George Reeves? At least it stuck close to the comic book stories of the early years!
