Sincerity. If you can fake that, you’ve got it made.

(The above statement may read like a joke, but it really isn’t.)

And then people wonder why workplace culture is what it is.

The cream does rise to the top. Scum rises too, though.

I was expecting one or both of them to jump.

Not all that rises to the top is cream.

A sad commentary of modern day corporate culture!

I have few principles; just enough to keep me out of trouble (and out of the boardroom).

Unfortunately, this is all too common a way large corporations work. The buddy system instead of real work.

I had a good career, but I expect that it would have been better if I hadn’t been the anti booty-kisser.

In other words, his integrity matched what the pigeons were leaving on the ledge.

And THAT is why I never worked for a corporation.

I know Wiley hates corporations but the backstabbing in government is just as bad, if not worse.

The more valuable you make yourself as a worker the less likely they are to waste you on a promotion to management.

No, now it’s socially acceptable to numb the pain with antidepressants and anti-anxiety meds. Accomplishes a similar goal — get on with a life that’s against positive human, planetary, and even spiritual values. The “real world” we’ve all bought into is psychotic and if you see that, see it as a sign you haven’t sold out.

Organizations run by sociopaths, reward sociopathy.

The alternative to “quiet quitting”.

For all too many who rise to upper management, it’s more about playing the game than actually doing the work. Being in the right place at the right time, reciting the “right” words.

We had some snitches in my job and back stabbing bit**s.

Non Sequitur Meets Industry

Too many faithful employees give the full measure of devotion to a company they genuinely love, only to be fired a few days before they’re eligible for a pension. Companies don’t prosper by giving money away.

You can forget all that. You better be related.

Office politics is the only game that ultimately matters.

All that’s needed for backstabbing is a group of people and chance. In any group of people, odds are that at least one is going to try to step on others. The bigger the group, the larger the odds of more than one. And when livelihood’s involved the odds go way up.

Sounds pretty normal, to me.

As “Rick & Morty” shows us that super-intelligent squirrels run things from behind the scenes. What it doesn’t show is that the Fey created them to do just that. Rule the Earth in their stead.
