A holdup without weapons or other physical threat. Good luck in suing. If someone is holding you up, that person probably doesn’t have any money in the first place.

You have no idea how accurate this cartoon is and what an indictment it is of how corporations and the wealthy get away with murder, figuratively and actually, in some cases.

A stable society NEEDS good lawyers. GOOD lawyers.

Looking from the inside out, I think society has misplaced a lot of its hatred for lawyers and given judges a free ride. And passively allows obvious problems to sit there decade after decade.

This is what angers me about our system. Too often people file suits to force behavior or punish behavior they do not like even though they know they cannot win. This is especially true of illegal “disciplinary action” in grade schools. The school stays in as long as they can and then drop the actions before trial thus taking away standing from the family of the student and the case is never resolved. However the family is still out whatever money they spent in the defense.

Isn’t that one of the things that Michael Avanati got convicted for?

I wonder who the bum is shilling for.

It’s not all that great. After taxes and lawyer fees the homeless guy only gets a sandwich and a cup of coffee at the mission.

Give him a check. With a paper trail, you can sue him for extortion – lawyer or no lawyer. :)
