Humans won’t do the most basic of things because they’d rather feel entitled and like a stand-out rebel than be mildly inconvenienced.
Mask is a little uncomfortable? Spin a conspiracy that it’s government control or the masks are killing you, despite literally none of the evidence suggesting that and other cultures that adopted masks as an early response are doing much better (South Korea). Because why care about other people? YOU’RE uncomfortable, so that means you should put everybody else at risk while you get your oversized bag of chicken nuggets at Costco.
Hire’s the problem, folks there is no such thing as “herd” immunity for ANY coronavirus!
We catch Covid-19; if we survive, our bodies produce antibodies which will allow us to keep from getting re-infected for a while, but the antibodies fade over time, allowing us to be reinfected, eventually!
This is the reason we KEEP GETTING “colds” and the “flu”; other common types of coronavirus!
The antibodies for the Covid-19 virus appear to last for weeks to months – just like the antibodies for every OTHER coronavirus.
Back in the day (think prehistoric times folks, I’m OLD) I remember in civics class the prof saying that not all or even most of the founding fathers agreed on the popular vote. Aside from the obvious like women, black folk and other “furriners” (anyone different than us)they thought the general populace wasn’t educated or smart enough. Lately I’ve started to agree with them. Not based on sex or color but on I.Q. and willingness to actually think through issues.
so why does this surprise anyone. We all complain as if we are the smart one and everyone else is the dunce. Make plans as if someone will always disagree with you, because someone always will.

There does seem to be a rising tide of deliberate ignorance. That’s a long woeful trip to extinction.

Willful ignorance and “muh freedumbs”, plus the deliberate destruction of the US education system. Great feedback loop.

The anti-vaxxers will be first in line to get the COVID vaccine. Then they’ll go back to complaining vaccines are evil and letting their kids die.

Humans are capable of anything when they put their minds to it.
That’s the problem.
